The 92ers will never remember the first two man  And even Ferguson is going back decades. Your lot whinged none stop about Big Sam, yet now you’re the “richest club in the world” you all seem chuffed to be splashing £25m on a 30 year old with 3 in 21 this season. Brilliant

You can all spin it how you like, and I actually don’t think Wood is “that” bad. Decent enough. Howe and Wood weren’t what you were expecting though in January. I remember you were safe due to the big name players you were bringing in. ;)

A scatter gun will be fantastic for blowing away the resistance of the clubs we are battling relegation with.
And then we can move on.

Just a striker that I mentioned to my son we needed to kick start us. An old fashioned centre forward. There's not many left but we need one as it stands.
A potential masterstroke of a signing, as unconvincing it will be to many.

But like you say...we'll see.
Masterstroke? More like sheer desperation. Realised he had a release clause, activated it easiest way of getting someone in instead of spending time negotiating a fee. No way was this lad on How's list of targets.

A good target man, what happens to eddieball and him being a forward thinking attacking coach. Sounds like he just wants to lump it now.
Did we lump it when we had Shearer?
Do you seriously think we're going to use Maxi and Fraser and Trippier...etc if were just going to lump it?

The purpose of Wood is a variation. Sometimes it will be route one but there will be plenty of crossing into the box...etc.

Good signing, shows money is no object when you can afford to pay £25 million for a backup striker to cover your main striker who is out for 8 weeks, not many teams could do that.

Robinho moment? Robinho came from real Madrid and he cost more 14 years ago than the mags have spent on a player, in fact he didn't cost far off both of their signings combined.

Absolutely no evidence they're set up for man city style spending so far imo.
You didn't get the irony in my post did you? Should have used a laughing emoji to emphasize.

Giving a team that is in a relegation dog fight £25m isn't weakening them

That's a lot of money for a really good loan fee - or a striker likely to get you more than the 7 goals you'd expect from Wood before the end of the season.
It is when the player lost had the potential to score more goals towards the seasons end.

Well 'Maxi' 9 times out of 10 runs down blind alleys so I'm not sure what the point of him is.
Fraser is shite btw.

Or desperation. Could look at it other ways
Nah, needed a striker for 8 weeks due to Wilson being out, not many decent ones available at this time of year that clubs are willing to sell so they just went and took our main relegation rivals striker off them, genius some would say.

Aye Burnley will really miss these 15 goals he has for them this season.

Tbf that is what they need

Making sure they beat the poor teams to stay up.
25m though canny bit for a 3 goal in 18 game striker with 0 assists.

True and he does like some of the teams they have left to play....

Watford 1
Leeds 1
Everton 2
Villa 3
West Ham 7
Brentford 1
Brighton 3
Chelsea 0
Palace 3
Spurs 3
Wolves 5
Leicester 4
Norwich 3
Liverpool 0
Man City 0
Arsenal 1

But all this bravado of richest team in the world and linked to Dembele and Vhalovic...and ending up with Chris Wood. The spin is, needs must, but reality is that this is not a Man City style takeover. It is a tart it up and sell on takeover.
