 All over the place, just like your scattergun transfer policy.
A scatter gun will be fantastic for blowing away the resistance of the clubs we are battling relegation with.
And then we can move on.
We'll see won't we, I know a couple of other Burnley fans that say the same thing too. Wood your Robinho moment?
Just a striker that I mentioned to my son we needed to kick start us. An old fashioned centre forward. There's not many left but we need one as it stands.
A potential masterstroke of a signing, as unconvincing it will be to many.

But like you say...we'll see.

You could have had Suarez for £30m and he would make a major difference.

No, but for a team that's needing a decent traget man to fight off relegation. He'd be a great addition for that alone, hopefully.

. You could say it about Arsenal against forest or any other club that was knocked out by even lower opposition.
All if's and but's.
I don't think anyone is under any illusions about what we re quire to stay up.

It's easy to justify given the position we're in and the fact we're desperate for a decent target man and given the January market being as it is with clubs not wanting to let go of their strikers unless we dig champions league like money deep because of who we are now, money wise.
We can't dig champions league money deep just for the sake of it. We need to dig relegation money deep to get in the grafters and those that know and understand what they're up against.
I think the club's being sensible on that note.

I think they're running us exactly how they should be.
We are fighting relegation and it's experience and grafters with a bit of quality we need, not mercenaries who don't give a rats.
A good target man, what happens to eddieball and him being a forward thinking attacking coach. Sounds like he just wants to lump it now.

But he wouldn't have made Burnley a worse team.
This is win win on that.
And woods is used to a relegation fight.
Giving a team that is in a relegation dog fight £25m isn't weakening them

That's a lot of money for a really good loan fee - or a striker likely to get you more than the 7 goals you'd expect from Wood before the end of the season.

Let's see who Burnley can tempt in to their team and see how quickly the player fits in and gets used to the other players.
Do you honestly think dyche is rubbing his hands thinking this is brilliant news for Burnley?

I'm not interested in what he has for Madrid. I'm also not interested in how many goals Wood has scored this season for Burnley.

What counts is what the pair can do at Newcastle.

If you and 1000's of others think that the threat will be Trippier to Wood do you not think the best coaches in the world will see this? You will be gushing all over the 1st goal the pair make but will forget about the countless goals they will give away by getting behind the right full back.

In 18/19 Wood scored 30% of his goals against relegated teams and the average position of the teams he scored against was 12th. In 19/20 the stats were 29% and 12.5th. In those seasons he scored against the top 4 finishers once and twice respectively (in 17/18 and 20/21 he failed to score against a top four side) He is a bang average premier league striker, who scores largely against poor teams, that you will have paid 25m for and who will likely be on 150k for four years. If you stay up you will all be moaning away at having him in the side.

So why would Newcastle be any different: "see how quickly the player fits in and gets used to the other players".

Wood “might” go on and be decent for them, however the facts are Wilson has 6 in 15 and the Mags have only won once this season. They’re replacing him while injured with Wood who has 3 in 21 this season at Burnley who have also only won once this season. He isn’t scoring or winning games for Burnley, so why expect him to do it immediately for the Mags

£25m is a huge amount for a 30 year old in poor form. They keep saying he’s a good target man. When has that ever been what the mags have wanted too. Big Sam anyone?

Regardless of all that though is the Mags convincing themselves that Howe and Wood are answer, even short term.
All those tea towels for that
Wyn Davies
Rambo Reilly
Duncan Ferguson

He also averages 25 days without a goal (corrected down from 30 due to lockdown).

Robinho moment? Robinho came from real Madrid and he cost more 14 years ago than the mags have spent on a player, in fact he didn't cost far off both of their signings combined.

Absolutely no evidence they're set up for man city style spending so far imo.

He's scored double figures in every season he's been at Burnley - a team who barely score goals. He's also big and very strong. He'll be a very useful player. The fee and his age are irrelevant, because they've got a load of blood-money, and he's a signing for the next year or 2. Like I say, stage 1.
Talking about stages implies they’ve got a plan. I’ve seen little evidence of any strategic, intelligent, joined up thinking from them yet.
