Explain how? What would ever attract a player to the north east if he had options to play in London or Manchester?
By and large this is going to be true for the elite players. I love the north east, but I'm a middle-aged bloke on an average wage who prefers museums to nightclubs. Totally different for shallow 25-year old millionaires and their airhead partners.

How much money are they actually throwing about? Plenty talking about them offering Trippier silly money, but if reports are to be believed, he's getting £100k a week. That's among the top earners at a lot of clubs, but most clubs who have top-half aspirations are paying multiple players that sort of money.
