Simeone has been interviewed many times discussing how much he rates Tripper. He has recently again said he would like to keep the player but it's hard when their minds made up to move.

They haven't binned him off, they literally played him in their last game. He won the league with them last season.

He will improve them this season at least. It's how it affects them going forward in the market with his wages round their neck for the next 4 years along with others if they sign similar. They will probably cozy up to someone high up and get the rules changed so it won't matter but if is FFP rules that will hold them back a bit

It is, but no riskier than spending £4m on Will Grigg in League One.

If he signs then he’ll be one of the best players in the relegation fight alongside ASM and Callum Wilson.

The bigger issue imo will be if they get Aubameyang on ridiculous money and he pisses off the team with his high wages and attitude.

He's having to work his arse off though that certainly doesn't help. Pickford makes mistakes at Everton because the defence is shite. He doesn't at England because it's less so.

Long term, we need better all over the park but in the short term, Dubravka is good enough.
