I know a few have mentioned what may happen if the murderers get bored. Wouldn't it be funny if they were given to the Yemeni government as part of a reconciliation
There would be the mother of all meltdowns. It would break them.

In the Saudi takeover, they got the money behind them they always wanted. If its not spent, or if its spent badly and subsequently dries up, there is basically no one richer likely to buy them. Yes there are richer people out there, but the odds on them buying football clubs is low. It will be even lower if the Saudi millions don't radically improve the club through solid investment.

Simple fact is, the new owners HAVE to get this right in my opinion. If they don't they could potentially ruin the club and its fans. Mike Ashley may have been many things, but he was a good businessman who built a business that could be sold. If PIF blow millions on this and it doesn't work, who is going to take a punt on them?

They'd probably go from "Riches to rags" over night and the fanbase would be broken. I genuinely think it would destroy most of the fanbase if after all the hype, and all the money. they were still a non-entity in football, and now owned by someone with less ability to deliver. Or worse, kept in that limbo, owned by a PiF that they revered, who simply didnt care anymore.

You see I like this forum, I'm a Mag never hid it as I'm not that sad, but. Literally any fanbase post takeover could be called the same, its not inclusive. Zero class or sense ha.

Remember when the Dell takeover was happening? If you don't I can link you to the posts which, literally say the same sort of shit.

It works both ways, we've got plenty of knaka's 'supporting' our respective clubs.
You're a good poster. Same as that Proffesor bloke. Dont like who has took over that's obvious. Personally I could not support the club. That's the truth . Possibly down to my absolute dislike of the middle east in general.

Whilst they will never be given away to the Yemeni government the club is further away from them than ever before. All of the "banter" on here and on twitter is just noise and there are a couple of bigger questions:

- if they spend in Jan will AS and JR match the PIF investment or be watered down. Rumours that PIF have loaned AS the cash but if they put 500m of new equity in can she really afford to borrow 50m. Only one reason is they plan to sell further down the line.
- despite their protestations PIF is funded by KSA. Despite it's restrictions most Saudi's are very happy as they have a lavish social support system. This was fine when the world needed oil but oil is now way below their breakeven budget deficit figure but can they continue the recent splurges into sport when they are cutting social support. It is not like the UAE with a handful of Emiratee..there are 34m Saudi's.

Wasn't checking twiter... aye righto

Without even clicking on that I know for a fact will be loads of mags backing him up as he has been licking their hoops.

Got what he wanted...
Wasn’t checking Twitter but was on twitter tweeting . I think out of everyone Keith Downie and Pete Graves have shown themselves as despicable human beings who will turn a blind eye to anything for a bit of coverage and attention. Good to see Luke Edwards, Neil Custis and Olly Holt call them out at every opportunity.

I dont understand business on that level, but the ability of AS and JR to match money coming from PiF has always been my question. I can't see them hanging around and (AS particularly) wanting to loan more money. Especially if they go down. On the other hand if they dont want to match the PiF investment? Then what? They lose some of the company? Or they lose entirely if they walk. I am not a businessman, I dont understand how these things work!

My question (shamelessly ripped from the Chronic) is "If PiF want to spend more than AS/JR want to spend.... 'what does this mean for the takeover"

It takes a special kind of person to try to link the FPP partnership with the rulers of KSA considering the many atrocities carried out by the Saudi state.

Essentially if the price was 300m, PIF put in 240m and JR/AS 30m each. They already made a statement about putting 39m of working capital to cover Bruce severance and potentially buying a manager out of contract. On the assumption that the split is still 80:10:10 then JR/AS will have put a further3.9m in. I don't have many ITK contacts but I am reliably informed PIF are loaning AS this, which is perfectly legal. You can see why as she is the public face and serves a purpose. If they, say put a further 150m in and AS and JR don't put the 15m in then the split goes down to 7.8/7.8 & 84.4%. Then if the put in another 280m next season the split goes down to 5/5/95.

You could argue that it is pointless AS and JR being involved if each year they need to put in 15m/20m to maintain the 10% stake. Obviously they all hope their is some huge sponsorship deal but when you are talking about 30m plus 4 x 150 k p/w for Trippier you realise that won't touch the sides. If they do stay involved this points to a sale down the line. The club were bough for less than 2 x earnings whereas the top Prem teams are valued at between 4-6 x earnings.

But they are light years away from the other teams:

So to say double earnings to the level of Arsenal (c350m) and sell for 3-4 x that at say 1bn would need a huge expenditure on players, a new stadium, a new training ground....Besides a new buyer is going to see through any rise in revenue if it purely came from a big Saudi sponsor who could walk away.

I am 100% certain there is a twist in the tail here.

Theres something not right, though I have to say I am not an expert.

So ok, if the position of AS becomes untenable, and she is no longer prepared to invest/loan money to maintain her share, then what?
The Saudis "buy her out" (which if they loaned the money means she owes them some of it, but is no longer involved?).
The Saudis can afford to lose out on NUFC, I doubt she can. The whole set up is nothing short of bizarre, given that it has been AS who was desperate to buy the club, first with the other Saudis, and now PiF. At one point I thought she was on the payroll of Mike Ashley such was the way she was trying to find a buyer!

Football economics genuinely baffle me.
