I disagree.
He's the kind of signing that they'd want. A recognised name that they can use to claim that they're a massive club capable of competing with the best. If he turns out to contribute nothing, they'll blame the leacy left by Bruce and Ashley.
He'd sign, play about ten games, go missing in most of them, and shuffle off back to Spain when they got relegated.

In that time he would score about three times, one of them a worldy in a 2-1 away defeat at Burnley and that goal would go down in mag folklore and they would sing songs about it and how he played for the mighty toon and Sunderland had an Everton loanee up front.

And now the Saudis are building their own ballistic missiles with China's help. Might have to stop taking the piss 🤣
(Can't post link)

Can’t wait for them to sign cast offs on 100’s of thousands a week, then struggle to flog them.

The best they can hope for is Lingard who will have more attractive options.
They have a terrible midfield - lacks depth and quality. This needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency or they are as good as down. I've no idea who'll go there (no f*cker hopefully) but they'll probably sign someone on a showbiz contract.

Their defence in comparison is well staffed but lacking in cohesion. A manager with strong defensive credentials could get a tune out of this lot ("buenos días Senor Benitez your 1st class ticket to Beijing is here") but a decent full back would be a huge help.

Another striker as back up would be useful for the daft tw*ts anaarl.

My money is still on Be-headie taking them doon

I genuinely don't think they'd mind going down as long as they spend a lot of money and bring in a big name.

What will be interesting is if they go down having signed a championship defender, and an unproven loanee.

Then the murmurings about "club that tries" will start up again. Who can they blame in that scenario. They've built up Howe, idolised the Saudis and Staveley, so who is left?

Yep you got it. Steve Bruce and Ashley... and the world will laugh

Like typical narcissists ;)

Signs and symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder and the severity of symptoms vary. People with the disorder can:

  • Have an exaggerated sense of self-importance
  • Have a sense of entitlement and require constant, excessive admiration
  • Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it
  • Exaggerate achievements and talents
  • Be preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate
  • Believe they are superior and can only associate with equally special people
  • Monopolize conversations and belittle or look down on people they perceive as inferior
  • Expect special favors and unquestioning compliance with their expectations
  • Take advantage of others to get what they want
  • Have an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others
  • Be envious of others and believe others envy them
  • Behave in an arrogant or haughty manner, coming across as conceited, boastful and pretentious
  • Insist on having the best of everything — for instance, the best car or office
At the same time, people with narcissistic personality disorder have trouble handling anything they perceive as criticism, and they can:

  • Become impatient or angry when they don't receive special treatment
  • Have significant interpersonal problems and easily feel slighted
  • React with rage or contempt and try to belittle the other person to make themselves appear superior
  • Have difficulty regulating emotions and behavior
  • Experience major problems dealing with stress and adapting to change
  • Feel depressed and moody because they fall short of perfection
  • Have secret feelings of insecurity, shame, vulnerability and humiliation

It always intrigues me how many people always say Newcastle will escape relegation when they've recently gone down twice. Benitez relegated a better team, in a better position, and many would say he's a better manager.

Howe isn't the right man for the job imo.
Give ower man they all love Edward. He'd mare a massive difference

Lol

After dealing with a disgusting narcissist (he is actually on this board), these are all of his traits to a tee.

The only thing in their favour is that they could spend a lot in January, this squad would be relegated comfortably. Probably 36 points would be enough, but they'll need mid table form in 2022 to hit that.
