He’s a 31 year old England regular and he’s got international team mates like Sterling on 350k at City.

Assuming there’s any truth at all behind the numbers in that rumour, why would the richest club in the world be struggling to pay that? Seems like the going rate for a player like him these days, and really you’d have thought they’d have to be prepared to pay over the odds if anything

Haggled over £200,00 for Eddie the 8th’s back room team, haggled over the price of the club and now despite their wealth don’t want to pay the going rate for players.

If that's the case then why did they even bother buying the club? It's not gonna exactly be a successful sports washing exercise for them if they have an at best mediocre premier league club, is it?

I'd like to apologise to the whole nation in my role here as least bell end-ish Mag. I think I'm blocked by all of the Wraith-ists and Saudi Murder Bot Kate Stewart

On Trippier - was always going to be the risk with this window you'd have agents seeing pound signs and players going along with it. I do think we'll spend money but the players you need to get a battling win at a Southampton away are not the players that look good in a PIF sport washing promo brochure. Fairly sure we'll go down though I wouldn't be surprised if we spent as much and no more as we did during the Rafa promo season where we loaded our squad with utter dross.

I don't think PIF are scared of spending as such but having worked with Saudi companies in the past - they want to know where every single penny is going, they ponder, debate and look at cost benefit analysis - everythign you don't need in a transfer window.

I'm totally unconvinced by Howe. He says the right things which sometimes seems to be enough but there's no progression defensively at all - playing from the back with our shower of shite defence doesn't work and Joelinton always battled he's just not that good. His subs are questionable but got to give him time before HoweOut trends. My biggest issue was saying a Director of Football will run everything then not appointing one - publicly courting Dan Ashworth who is a hands on kinda guy - if he clashes with Howe - back to stage 1. I would however sell my first born to appoint Graham Potter
