went onto the Liverpool thread, OP suggesting his team and asking what everyone else would do. One poster just replied “death.” I smiled then come back to the SMB.

Eddie Howe's strengths are he talks well in the media and no doubt during interviews and he got 1 team promoted a couple of times.

His main weaknesses are he failed at Burnley and got relegated at Bournemouth.

IMO in his current role his weaknesses far outweigh his strengths. He has a premier league win ratio very similar to Steve Bruce.

Quite how any football club can try to appoint a proven, international calibre winner like Emery and have a fall back position of Eddie Howe is beyond my comprehension? It's like trying to buy an Aston Martin, finding they're out of stock and settling for a Fiesta! 🤣

On page 250 they're getting very excited about Emery taking the job .........

By page 275 realisation he's not coming is hitting home.......

Page 300 "Eddie f***ing Howe man. I'm gutted. What a disappointment, all the promise and riches and positivity of the new regime, all the exciting names mentioned, and after spending weeks on "the process" they're going for the lemon barley water of football managers." .......

Good and solid? Then why hasn't he been considered for other sides like Palace, Watford, Everton, Wolves etc.

Just reeks of scraping the barrel of managers that are better than Bruce, so hopefully can keep us up. Massive job for him, very different to the Bournemouth challenge which eventually he oversaw his own demise.

I probably would be happy if in an alternative universe where we weren't taken over if Ashley just sacked Bruce and brought in Howe. It's just in this one where we have it seems a huge climb down to Howe.

I can't get behind good and solid describing Howe, but more than happy for him to prove me wrong. Times running out so I'll get behind Howe as experienced bur with risk.

I felt whoever we got they needed November and December to sort out squad and prepare for what they want to change in January." .....

No he's on loan at Aberdeen and they're thinking about cancelling his loan as he has been dogshit for them
Who are “they”?. International loans couldnt be cancelled by one side a few years back. Dunno about the situation now though. We loaned the useless feller Keane signed from Cork to Scotland and they wanted rid after a couple of weeks but couldn’t as we didn’t want him either. I saw him in Sydney for WCR a few years later, he was still shite in that league.
