Trouble after match

Said in the other thread, I feel for their proper fans who've followed them for years. This was their biggest away game probably ever at the best ground they've played a league game in.

spoke to a few of their fans early doors who were fantastic. Then a bunch of pricks came in singing adam Johnson songs and feed the mackems. I didn't hear any Geordie accents.

The sound morecambe fans said they've never seen this group at an away game before so guessed they may have came up for a big day out and looking for trouble.

feel for them as it really did tarnish their clubs reputation tonight.

What a way to waste your life eh?

There were three Cheltenham lads, in black hoodie, looking for trouble after the game.

They were on the corner where their only bus was parked.

They got a bit lippy but backed off when a few Sunderland people started losing patience with them.
sorry, but i've now got an image of three football fans squeezed into one black hoodie spoiling for a fight

Didn’t have Morecambe down for a bunch of small time arseholes like. That changed tonight. Would be interesting to hear a sensible Morecambe fan’s take on proceedings.
Hate all these small time shit little clubs tbh. I know it sounds arrogant, but fuck them. I take my bairn in the north stand and I'm sick of wondering if a flare will hit him, or wondering how many times he'll have to hear songs about paedophiles. Used to quite like the small clubs in the pyramid, having had most of them come to the SoL I wouldn't give a fuck if most of them went bust

Best post this week.

So then, those of us in the north stand certainly and others need to be emailing / on twitter etc with our club,. letting them know that this is unacceptable.

Away fans should never have been placed in the North Stand Upper. Ridiculous, naive decision.

Too easy to chuck stuff down on our fans or towards the pitch without being properly seen, and at the end of the day the stewards are not the police and as we’ve seen with a couple of clubs such as Coventry they haven’t a scooby if it kicks off.

Get them out of there.
The flair landed in the row behind us - row 29. Old fellas and women copped it.
Stewards came over in an unorganised manner and ones says to me “Where did it come from ?”
He genuinely didn’t realise it had been hoyed down from upstairs…… frightening 😳

The atmosphere started to dissolve once they were moved up there. The SW Corner started to disperse and this was before we hit league one.

Atmosphere and security are two different things though mate. Removing the atmosphere aspect, the reality is in the PL and Championship, there was no real security issues with the away fans. Since we entered this league though, it’s been a f***ing nightmare.

Off the top of my head, Oxford, Pompey, Southend, Morecombe, Luton and of course Coventry, have all behaved like dicks
