Cliche alert, but it felt like NUFC found two new signings in Fernandez & Lewis last night. They have to stay in the team. Also, who would have thought Joelinton was a £40m midfield enforcer all along? He was like Patrick Vieira at times.
Have they forgot they were playing an appalling Norwich side? You couldn’t make up half the shite they are coming out with

I Think many of them all in the same bubble... can't criticise the current situation now they're the richest club and thinking they can buy their way put of any dire situation. Consequently these are temporary setbacks which to point out the dire situation will be used against you down the line when they're winning stuff.

Problem is if that is indeed the case its predicated on money being spent, spent wisely. Non of which are guarenteed

Look at the player rating man.
Tha's from Alex Hurst.

Player Ratings – Newcastle Utd 1-1 Norwich (home)

Dúbravka – 5 – Had nothing to do until the 79th minute and then he lost his head. Let himself down massively with the equaliser but he did atone for his error with a great save from Lees-Melou in stoppage time. Distribution was poor all night and he seemed to take forever over goal kicks.
Manquillo – 6 – Had a decent game against dreadful opposition. He is our best fullback at the club and he should start against Burnley on Saturday.
Schär – 5 – Looked more comfortable alongside Fernández when he came on but a shocking error in stoppage time nearly lost us the game. Didn’t really have an awful lot to do against a team who are guaranteed to get relegated this season.
Clark – 0 – Tonight showed why Ciaran Clark should never play another game for this football club. An absolute moment of madness and an unforgivable mistake from a defender who is finished at this level.
Lewis – 5 – Didn’t get forward enough, but did okay at the back against Championship opposition. I would absolutely 100% pick him over Ritchie on Saturday though. He needs a few games to get up to speed.
Shelvey – 6 – Looks like a completely different player under Howe. I was hugely impressed with his display against Brentford and tonight he played his part. Ran his socks off in the first half and kept going all the way to the end. A solid effort.
Willock – 4 – Looks a shadow of the player he was last season. Sloppy in possession and didn’t really look up for the fight. Very disappointing.
Fraser – N/A – Was the sacrificial lamb after the Clark sending off.
Saint-Maximin – 5 – Didn’t impact the game at all. Things could have been different for him if we hadn’t gone down to ten men, but tonight just wasn’t his night.
Joelinton – 8 – Absolutely outstanding from start to finish. His defensive work was exceptional and he grafted more than anyone. Potentially we could have lost that game if it hadn’t been for his work rate. Easily the best player in a black-and-white shirt tonight.
Wilson – 5 – Was given the armband in Lascelles’ absence and scored a penalty but apart from that he did nothing else of note. Ran his heart out but never really troubled Krul.
Subs
Fernández (11 for Fraser) – 7 – Won the penalty from a corner and defended really well considering the amount of game time he’s had this season. Looked like he hadn’t missed a beat. Has to start alongside Schär on Saturday. Our best defender on the night.
Hayden (73 for Willock) – 3 – Sloppy in possession and looked way off the pace.
Almirón – (77 for Maximin) – 5 – Ran around a bit but didn’t impact the game.
Manquillo is their “best fullback at the club”… holy shit!:lol::lol::lol:

Vieira!? Did I watch a different game? The only slight resemblance was his sky high shots, they could be compared to Vieira's penalty miss at the SoL, that was spectacular.

I keep saying this - even to mags - but we are a shambles, 4 seasons in division 3, they should be laughing uncontrollably, non stop?

Yet they continually let us off the hook with some of the most jaw droppingly stupid and embarrassing self inflicted things you've ever seen.

And they continue to try to outdo themselves.

It's absolutely surreal.
Form is temporary and class is permanent.

Hope to fuck their form and class stays permanent though coz both are utter wank.

One thing Bruce did, was get their 2 best players, Wilson and Saint Maximin, playing really well. Heartening that both appear to have been utter shite in this game. They are definitely fucked if Howe can’t get those 2 playing.

It would be "Agent Howe" if he did that.

A team so reliant on midfield and attack to compensate for their terrible defence they bring in a manager renowned for leaking goals AND he manages to nullify the attacking options whilst doing nothing about the defence?

He'll not see the season out.

I want the derby back, i miss beating yous
Unless you spend heavily I believe Derbies next season would be happy events for us. Not that we will go down.
@Scottwilsonecho: Burnley rule out selling James Tarkowski to #NUFC next month - even with all their money, it's already looking like Newcastle could struggle to get the players they want in January...

Money talks. They will sell. Probably for more than he is worth but that is likely to be the case in most deals we try to do.
