the point of a flagship store is it be one of many..not one of one...

harrods in london may not make ahuge profit..but it needs to be like that because they license the name all over the world..

this is always brought up when people cant refute the point ive made..pathetic really..
That’s just not true at all and completely misunderstands the modern use of a store as a marketing tool for branding and to hang digital from.
When I worked in retail, it was drummed in that the three most important things were location, location and location. And the location of the club shop is about as bad as it gets. If it was open, say, 6 days a week, then for at least four of them it wouldn't get sufficient footfall to generate takings let alone gross profit) that would cover the wages and overheads for that day. The ground is inconvenient for a casual trip, and the shop is in the least convenient part of the ground. This is the conumdrum/
I agree in a traditional setting but not in this context. It’s a marketing expense and is used to drive sales through other channels as well as being a point of contact for customers. They could open it 6 days a week, do very little during the week but run their online operations from there thus amortising their staff and fixed costs.

i hae nomates connected to the club..but are you saying the oopening hours now are the same as when the previous owners were here?

so whatare the other reasons?
You back them up at every turn, then make out you are against them, “I am pleased they aren’t running the club anymore” a total bluffer, reminds me of someone that, who could it be, he can’t lie straight in bed either, I can remember that much, No can’t remember who it is, he must be a total loser, whoever he is though.

And if he came in, stole parachute payments, sold our best young players and took a loan for himself using the clubs assets as collateral?
They owned the club at the time, you cannot steal from yourself.

The young players were sold because our revenues were not high enough to retain them.

I don't believe the loan was a personal loan either.

Frightening
It is, the whinging about the parachute payments shows a complete lack of understanding. If they'd left that money in the account belonging to the limited company that owns the club registration, that would make no difference. Only SD could authorise expenditure, so any transfer needed him to be in agreement. If he wanted to buy a player, how he funded that was up to him. Ellis used to loan the club the money at the time it was needed.

So it makes little difference about where SD held the monies in all of the companies and personal accounts he owns, what mattered was how much money he was prepared to invest. It's a complete distraction over parachute payments.
Absolutely staggering post. One of the worst I’ve ever seen on here.
So respond with a proper critique.

I maintain that it's fuckwittery to an unbelievable level that you can get a mag top in the town but not a Sunderland one.

It actually beggers belief.
Agreed, it's pathetic. Not going to pretend to know as much about business as some on here, but there must be places in town with a relatively low rent (I know the bridge is meant to be expensive but you'd think in a city centre with plenty available places you'd find one reasonable one). Open a club shop there, then either open the club shop on a match day or at least have some sort of mobile merchandise unit so people can get strips, scarves and the likes and direct them to the city centre outlet for anything you don't have in stock.
