The first 2-3 seasons were pretty good. After that it struggled a bit, but it’s still easy watching TV with a few laughs.

I remember it lost it's racy edge after series 2-3.
Donald & wife were the cheeky pair who set the tone. Liked Mel as well. He was a proper,grumpy Yaaarkshire bugger...

I quite liked the running joke that he nearly died regularly. Grumpy twat made me laugh like

It was ideal "eating your tea in front of the telly", quite enjoyed how shit it was tbh
It was cancelled, and all the props were going to be chucked out as they weren't going to continue to pay for the container. The bloke who made the show retired from telly, and set up his own bar using all the props IIRC.
Quite sad when cast members started dying IRL though. I remember they had an impressionist (famous bloke, but can't remember off the top of my head) do some voice acting for Donald when he died. The wifey in the wheelchair's husband died too - I remember the 2 of them singing Spanish Eyes together in the Benidorm Palace. Sad.

The first few seasons are OK, easy watching, up there with the best comedy about is massively overselling it mind! IMO of course

It's fantastic tbf. Easy for purists to turn their nose up but it's really out on its own in the 'mass consumption' category.
Unfortunately it did take a massive nosedive after the Garvey era.
