I'm having a lads weekend in that hotel in June.

I stayed at the hotel- Neptunes is directly over the road. The reception scenes are filmed in a different hotel- so you will walk in and not recognise any of it.

First three seasons were class, sometimes stick them on. Went terrible quickly though. Unwatchable.

I can remember hearing an interview with one of the original cast (Vegas I think) and apparently some of the tourists staying at the hotel became a problem after the first season and a lot of the cast were put off going back to film

You can tell it was done in the winter like. The sun is low as owt. The cast are just about shivering.

Apparently in exchange for the pool being closed for an hour or so to film, the tourists at the hotel were demanding champagne to be included in AI for them.

The demands gradually got worse and again, apparently, some of the cast just got a bit sick of it and started to walk away from the show

Recently watched 8 seasons of it. Loved it. Kenneth, the hairdresser, probably my favourite character.

My mate said to someone that was in a group that we were talking to that he had a famous celebrity double. When asked who, he said Kenneth from Benidorm.

It went down extremely badly

Got dafter and dafter the longer it went on, but still enjoyed it.

Went a bit tits up when it went from 30 minute episodes to an hour, imo.

Still very watchabler though!

People involved are retired. Most of the sets were scraped, some things were saved and ironically went into a benidorm pub.
