And when you finally feel confident in someone, big Sam, he gets pinched by England
is the only one I would have back, he would get us up with the current squad, I doubt we could tempt him back but throw a bit of money his way and you never know, a big bonus for promotion and another to get us out of the championship, ensure he understands the budget, he could always say he had unfinished business.
I know I know! but can you imagine

You’re dreaming mate… in a similar way to how I dream!

There’s no chance, but he would be my absolute #1 choice.

2hrs and your home max from 90% of away games in full time English pro football for starters. Anyone who thinks the extra hour after hour spent on coaches doesn’t get on players and managers tits is very naive.
Plus they’re a better team and don’t sack the manager every 20 mins.
Weather?

SAFC haven’t been an attractive proposition to anyone on the up for a long long time. If they’ve flopped at their last job, are unemployed, merely desperate or thinking about their payoff before they’re returning our call then this is the place for them.
Probably true. But in our current league teams like Wigan and Plymouth are doing better than us and surely nee fucka wants to live in those places!

The idiots that support us would rather we stayed in this division than have him back.

He would have us back in the Premiership in a couple of seasons. He would get us mid to lower table every season, that's about his limit unless we splashed stupid money, which we won't.

He wouldn't come back though in a million years and I don't blame him.
Strange way to have a dig at the fans with some hypothetical bollocks :oops:

He wouldn’t come

We wouldn’t want him

And no guarantee he’d take us back to the Prem despite what you claim

Carry on

There is no way Big Sam would fit into the long term plan or work under a DOF. When I heard of a long term plan I thought that was to get to the Premier League, turns out it is just to get out of L1.
mind if LJ is here for 5 years, we’ll still be here.
I know KLD is young, but does he want to be here for so long???

If the Hull City takeover goes through, as expected, within the next fortnight, it looks like Grant McCann will be sacked - despite the recent upturn.

Deffo flawed but young and obviously won League 1 last season.

Could a realistic option post LJ, relatively cheap and well might fit the bill for your owners.

How does everyone fail at this club? I do not understand how it’s such a poisoned chalice

Fans demand that every manager gets sacked after a tough run. No manager is given a chance to properly build a squad. The only thing that has been consistent at Sunderland over the last 15 years is that the squad has always been a Frankensteins monster, consisting of multiple managers signings. All signed with conflicting ideologies in mind.

I just want a manager that thinks the way to play the game out when winning 1-0 is to go out there and score 4, not try to defend the lead, 'cos a ball will always end up bouncing around the edge of the box and one of theirs might hit the sweet spot (exactly what happened on Tuesday) and we've lost points because of shithousery and 9 behind the ball (against 10!).
I don't know what LJ says to them at half-time, but they always seem to come out groggy after the break.
We do not have a single leader on the pitch, so that 'leadership group' thing needs scrapping because it just lets players look elsewhere rather than grasping the nettle. Leading by example BTW, not pointing and shouting: KIng Charlie wasn't the Captain, but he led his men like a General.
Unless KLD has got something up his sleeve I think LJ will stay, but he needs to buck his ideas up.

Can LJ buck his ideas up though? Isn’t that exactly why he suffers these slumps of bad runs at each club? After 450 games as Manager you would have thought he would have learnt from it but then it just keeps happening.
He even said himself that all it takes is a wonder strike and a goal can come from nowhere. So why did he invite it?
A manager clearly with his limitations.

Alarm bells when he started talking abouts POMO etc after one of his first wins at Lincoln... he's not a good fit at safc. Think he's genuinely surprised at the size of the club and the weight of expectation - which in itself is surprising as Sunderland in division 3 requires only one thing - promoting

I said he wouldn't come.

Not everybody wouldn't want him. A poll would be interesting tbh.

He would though.

Next 4 games will determine our ability to finish in the top two. Lowly Cambridge away on Saturday and then three home matches in a week Dec 4-11th including Plymouth who have shown they’re not infallible of late.

With KLD’s family business operating at an elite level and the people he has involved from it at SAFC they will surely be weighing up options to Johnson in the light of recent results and performances allied to his negative media outpourings blaming everyone but himself. His analysis of Ross Stewart after Shrewsbury was disgraceful and should never have been uttered in the public arena-so many veiled and not so veiled criticisms.

We are at a real crossroads right now.
Lowly Cambridge as you put it or only 9 points behind us and well ahead of a 10 man Shrewsbury and have only lost one more than us this season and come off the back of a good point at home to Wigan. Our players look and play confused and the finger points at the little man in the dug out. If we are to have any chance of promotion this season he needs rid of sooner rather than later. Hopefully Kld has something up his sleeve and his next story post on Instagram is about our new manager as his last is congratulating the incoming Man u boss

One of the apparent benefits in our new management structure set up by KLD was that if we sack the manager it shouldn't be as drastic a change as in the past - we still want to build a young, attacking team, and we will continue to appoint managers that follow the culture/philosophy. So on that basis there shouldn't be an issue with sacking LJ as we should already be prepared for it, and have other names in mind for the role.
