Was Di Canio ahead of his time?

They sell enough of it, so I’m sure it does to some extent. As I’ve said multiple times already in this thread though, if they players felt like they were being treat as kids, they’d respond in kind. The ketchup situation was just emblematic of a larger problem.
Perhaps the players needed to be treated as children because of their lackadaisical attitude to fitness, training, diet and the rest top professional athletes do to sustain them at their peaks of fitness and ability. Disappointingly, there have been many, many players at Sunderland over the decades, and even until recently, who have not been dedicated to their craft, thinking they are God's gift and can wing it when it comes to adding hard work and 'team' to their talents.

A minimum? What else would they do like?
They could remove my shares even though I actually own them, as a bad leaver.

They could keep my IP as I'd be in contractual breach.

Ever been declared bankrupt? You could get fired for that despite it being nothing to do with your worklife.

The one true thing about Di canio is he will demand effort and loyalty.
That is sadly lacking in our team.
He would clear out the hangers on, no doubt about that either.

Yeah great stuff - alienate half the players like at Swindon costing them a fortune that they couldn't keep up with, despite one promotion and another close.

He kept the likes of Ji, his call apparently, really sorted out the hangers on then and we saw it - was it against Palace when he kept him on after a disgraceful first half and then took him off after half time, seemingly only so he could do it in front of the fans.

Ostracised Cattermole and then brought him back for his last game against WBA didn't he?

Talked about effort and loyalty but his own professionalism was lacking.

I'm sorry I disagree, at the time there were to many player clicks and the likes of Catts saying the lads didn't want to play for him, cos he trained them wrong. WTF would Catts know.

PDC would be good for the current squad and get them winning again, sure he's a fascist loon but no-one is perfect in league 1, even the manager. He clashed with Catts and O'Shea, too many leaders with different views at that time.
Why better now? we have no leaders, no fire, no passion, but we do have ability and a balanced squad. Very few f***ing northern minerals in the players, all a bit soft and sensitive.
I know hiring him until the end of the season is big risk and right outside of the clubs philosophy, but it would get us promoted & I don't care by which method or manager, it's just got to happen.
