Lee Johnson - potential replacements

I disagree if players arent taking responsibility on the pitch it is the managers fault. He works with them every day, he sets the culture. While McGeady is on a downward spiral now and cant be relied on moving forward I think the rest of those players can play an important part in a promotion squad with a good manager.
So the players aren't expected to take responsibility for their own performances?

Does that mean you don't blame Chopra for that horrible miss against the mags as the manager didn't have him in the right frame of mind?

Think we will have to agree to disagree here as if I don't take responsibility for performing my job to the best of my ability it won't be my manager who gets sacked but me.

I reckon he’s got three or four games. Not sure if getting shot would actually be the right decision but the last few matches have been fairly shambolic and the inexplicable tinkering with game style, formation and personnel that was evident when things went wrong last season is back and I can’t see KLD letting it drag on.
Next 4 games will determine our ability to finish in the top two. Lowly Cambridge away on Saturday and then three home matches in a week Dec 4-11th including Plymouth who have shown they’re not infallible of late.

With KLD’s family business operating at an elite level and the people he has involved from it at SAFC they will surely be weighing up options to Johnson in the light of recent results and performances allied to his negative media outpourings blaming everyone but himself. His analysis of Ross Stewart after Shrewsbury was disgraceful and should never have been uttered in the public arena-so many veiled and not so veiled criticisms.

We are at a real crossroads right now.

Alec Neil off the top of my head. If we’re going British. SAFC though will know his stats n data. Money spent, PPG, transfer profit generated etc etc etc. Well I’d like to think they would.

Even Fergie flopped at a few jobs, Moyes too. Shankly was particularly succesful in his first few jobs. George Graham was plodding along at Millwall etc etc.
We’ve family in the Norwich area. It turned to shit there when the board wouldn’t back him ower four iirc players going on the lash. They were dropped n disciplined then went behind his back to the board iirc. The board wouldn’t get rid of them so he wadnt pick them. Something along those lines anyway.

The idiots that support us would rather we stayed in this division than have him back.

He would have us back in the Premiership in a couple of seasons. He would get us mid to lower table every season, that's about his limit unless we splashed stupid money, which we won't.

He wouldn't come back though in a million years and I don't blame him.

I would have him like. I think he would come back as well...

Yes of course players take responsibility for their performance but it doesn’t give the manager a free pass as they are responsible for preparation, motivation, ensuring the players have clear instruction and know their roles. If they have uncertainty or lack of clarity going out on the pitch then that leads to mistakes and uncertainty in performance. If the manager doesn’t have any responsibility for the performance of his players you might as well not have one.

We all know how this is going to end with Johnson . Why wait until the season is completely unretrievable?
Even if a miracle happened and he managed to turn it around and get us promoted, does anyone think he could repeat that success at a higher level ?
No one wanted him in the first place for the very reasons we are now seeing.
We must get rid before it’s too late.

I'm not defending LJ at all but you said

'if players arent taking responsibility on the pitch it is the managers fault'

My point is that at some point surely the players have to show some professional pride. Regardless of who is in the dugout a team looking for promotion should have seen Tuesdays game out.

If players were as easily sackable as managers/head coaches do you think we would see some of the recent performances we have seen?
