Mobile phone - network switch

I have a really daft question.

My old mobile is an iPhone on EE.
My new mobile is an iPhone on O2.

I’ve transferred data from old to new.

I’ve put the new SIM card into the new phone.

I can now use both phones, but when does the previous network/phone/SIM stop working, please?

Do I have to ask EE and not the SMB?

It can take a day or 2 for the old one to stop working. When I did it last, I was getting calls through to my new one, and texts to my old one! All over the shop, I was.
Thank you!

Yes I have registered the banking app on my new phone, but the one time password was sent to the old phone.

I can’t find the instruction manual in the phone packaging so I’ll phone Apple to ask for one.

When the old provider turns your number off. However, both phones will continue to use iMessage and FaceTime and the likes even with no sim

A straightened paper clip lasts longer !
We had different amp wire for different fuses... wouldn't know what amp a paperclip would be 🤔
I have now had a text from O2 saying that the PAC code that I provided is incorrect!!!

I f@cking give up.

PS. I did actually find an old Nokia in a drawer today. I charged it and played the space invader game for a bit.
I do believe you were entering the SPAC code, understandable error la

I have my new phone …

But why does it have 2 numbers?

On settings/Apple ID, there is the old number and a new one.

Texts are going to the old phone, but it says ‘no service’ on the display.

when someone phones the old number it arrives on the new phone????

All good mate, waiting on the house sale to move back home. You and the family OK?

If switching it off and on again doesn't work, try swearing at it then admitting defeat and asking a teenager to sort it
We are fine, ta. Although I am losing my temper with phones, cars and sofas. I’m sure that they are sent from a higher being to test me.

We seem to have fixed it by changing the iMessage settings. What a load of toss.

Will you be getting a season ticket when you move?
