They've had since at least 2017 to apologise!!!

The YCCC scandal has two components that need to be taken into account and each amplify the other's severity.

1) The depth, breadth and banality of the racisim - really, all forms of racism. You've got the jibes disguised as 'banter', the discriminatory, and the all out institutional.

2) The fact that Yorkshire have belligerently refused to accept any responsibility and gaslighted Rafiq for years and years and years, never apologising, never acknowledging anything bad has happened, in private or public, never doing anything.

And some people now want to draw an equivalence between the above and a couple of racist facebook messages he sent when he was 19 (and the venn diagram between people who defended Ollie Robinson for almost identical charges is interesting)? To say - ah, well, look at him, nothing we can do, six and one, half a dozen the other?

Absolute bullshit - we see you.

Where are your posts about the deplorable behaviour of YCCC? I have honestly seen none at all. I have only seen huge criticism of the person of colour for his two racist messages 10 years ago and none at all at the white players, ex players, commentators and administrators whose systematic, day to day racial abuse drive Rafiq to contemplate suicide.

What is going on is that somebody who tried to refute allegations he was a racist two days ago has now turned up, on social media, dressed in blackface.

Yes it's in the past, yes he's apologised, but the media is interested in his character due to the allegations he refuted.

As they were with Rafiq yesterday.

It's definitely newsworthy, whatever else you think about it.

You seem to be very clearly implying that people exposed to bullying and racism, which you claim to hate, should accept it in instances where they have themselves perpetrated such behaviour

So it seems you hate bullying and racism, but believe repeat instances of it to be justifiable in the event its happening to someone who has bullied or been racist to someone once

Was blackface a “thing “ when Hales got dressed up ? If it was , then he is quite rightly going to get called out.
If this wasn’t an issue at that time then I can’t see how he can be punished for something that would only become unacceptable at a later date .

You won't find a single fancy dress shop selling products advertised to make your skin black either

If you are talking about the Black and white minstrels you may have a point but people dressing up as Michael Jackson or comedians such as Bo Selector was never seen as racism until recently .

If you go to a party wearing an outfit black actor might wear, also known as "clothes", then obviously not

If you go to a party with your skin painted black as though someone's skin colour was a costume , then quite obviously yes that's racist

Everything didn't "become racist". Racist things have started to be called out as such. Sorry that it offends you.

This is why you can’t have a discussion with the likes of you without you jumping off the deep end . White people dressing up at fancy dress parties as black people such as Bob Marley was never seen as racism until recently. Those are the facts whether you want to rewrite history or not .

I think dressing up as someone's ethnicity is something people shouldn't do, yes

You presumably have no issue with it though as you think that's fine to do
