Racism at Yorkshire CCC

Probably more disappointed about Lloyd than anyone named so far, just because I enjoy his commentary. I also wonder what Michael Holding thinks of him now. Can't imagine he'll be very sympathetic given how much the cause means to him.

Shame like, I enjoy it more when he’s on.

I’d be amazed if he survives, it seems like they have been phasing him out for a while now, only doing northern Tests and working from home during the SL tour.

Aye same here, always enjoyed Bumble over the years

Just had exactly the same conversation with a lad at work

I highly doubt its news to Michael Holding tbh

This is a really good piece

"Unlike many of my white friends, I wasn’t shocked by his devastating testimony.

His story of dealing with institutional racism isn’t exceptional. What marks him out is the fact he is finally being listened to and believed: by MPs, the cricketing authorities and the media."

“Have you got a screw loose”

If he isn’t racist, he’s definitely tone deaf.
What a clown  people seem to struggle to grasp that you can have a good experience with someone and think they are a canny enough person, doesn't mean they actually are. They may be a decent person in some aspects of life but still be an utter arsehole racist in other scenarios.

Notably, the forums own BNP voter - who’d have thought, eh

To be honest all Rafiq has ever asked for are apologies from people who have racially abused or discriminated against him which is what he has done here. It doesn't help his current situation though and there will be plenty pleased about it that's for sure.

Fair play to him for apologising before it’s even become a big thing. I hadn’t see a thing about it on twitter until I was sent that tweet apologising, and even when you search for what he’s said it was difficult to find so not many were talking about it. He could easily have ignored it and hoped it wouldn’t become a big thing - by apologising now he’s actually brought it to everyone’s attention

It also highlights his own point about MV etc where they may well not remember because it meant so little to them. Rafiq probably had no idea that he had sent that tweet 10 years ago.
