Racism at Yorkshire CCC

Aye roots stand on the matter is looking very suspect.

When the names Gale, Ballance,Bresnan,Brooks were all players he played a lot with for Yorkshire.

Surprised Bairstow hasn't been dragged into this to. Not to say he's done anything but he shared the dressing room with all of these guys more so than Root as in and out of England team
Yeah, he hasn't been mentioned, has he?

Only mentioned in the witness statement regards to the fact the club helped him and others with his mental health issues, but not Rafiq. But to be fair from what i've read there isn't too many names mentioned really.

Reading the witness statement now:

Tim Bresnan is mentioned in the witness statement as encouraging the "Gary" comments in the dressing room, refusing to give Rafiq bowling opportunities despite him being in good form in 2016, shouting abuse at Rafiq and other British Asian players for incidents that other players were allowed to get away with, commenting "is that your uncle's shop" to Rafiq when they would go past a corner shop.

Rafiq made complaints against him but Andrew Gale (his father in law) and YCCC did nothing.

I’ve missed a lot of this today and haven’t had a chance to catch up yet but I have seen Michael Lumb’s name mentioned on Facebook in relation to a player who was at Yorkshire at the time and then went to Hampshire - has his name been mentioned or is this people putting 2 and 2 together?

Thats pretty much the only person it could be. Not like South Africans have a history of racism or owt though.
He's be long gone from the Yorkshire set up at this point I think. Horrible man though in my personal experience (as well as a domestic abuser of course).
Been around the club in various capacities though.
David Byas man wtf!

That allegation is that he forced Rafiq to drink red wine.

That statement on hoggard really is not very good. Thats not just use a bad use of words; that comes across as someone that really resented people from an Asian background.

Looked into it and It will a player called Alex Morris. Played for Barnsley CC the same time as Rafiq and had a short career with Yorkshire and Hampshire.

It doesn't. But ultimately he apologized immediately after hearing Rafiq's point of view, and Rafiq accepted it. Hopefully, he's learnt from his actions and grown as a person (which is all that anyone can ask for at this stage really).

It's awful, to think he moved onto Leicestershire is not good.

I can see we've been mentioned in this, wonder if it is to do with Hoggard or separate incidents.

Either way, not a good look for anyone - especially in a city that goes out of its way to to encourage multiculturalism. If anyone is still at our club that is caught up in this I hope they are dealt with severely.

You can only assume a few of the bag eggs who havent walked the plank are hanging on for a pay off and can’t afford to walk away as some have.

It's an interesting one. Yorkshire is not in the financial position at all to be paying people like Moxon or Gale off (or paying legal fees to get them sacked). God knows what will happen.
