Michael Vaughan

Dont know how much weight producing a couple of witnesses who claim they can remember something that was said 12 years ago, and said nothing about it since. Could actually be counterproductive to the case, arguing that if racism was as widespread as is being claimed, how can these individuals remember one specific comment from more than a decade ago.
I can remember specific instances of when I was bullied in primary and secondary school and that was 20-30 years ago.

I think in recent years he's tried to be like the Boycott of his generation,he just looks and acts like a smug prick.
The problem with that is the world has moved on and Boycott is/was tolerated mainly due to his age/generation plus his exceptional ability as a cricketer and his knowledge of the game. The black and white minstrels were on prime time TV when Boycott was in his pomp.

Vaughan however is from a different generation and rightly or wrongly will be judged by different standards. He currently has high profile media contracts on both TV and radio and needs to behave in a way that those organisations consider acceptable.

PS - Mr Boycott is on record as saying we needed to leave the EU because France prosecuted him for beating his then girlfriend. I have news for you Geoffrey, the UK would also prosecute you for beating your girlfriend as would every other country in the EU and most of the countries in the world except maybe Saudia Arabia, who would probably have stoned your beaten girlfriend. You got prosecuted because you beat your girlfriend and there is only one party to blame for that and its a bit far fetched to blame it on the EU.

I have the (mis)pleasure of meeting them both. Vaughan was nice enough to me, albeit it was clear that he thought he was amazing. While Boycott was a complete **** when we met him to everyone and easily the worse 'celebrity' I've ever met.

I always thought he was just a massive online edgelord and not anything beyond that. On radio and TV he's a lot more measured and rational from his social media WUM behaviour. Maybe he was always like that or maybe the contrarian shtick ran too far.

Aside from the right wing stuff I have been disappointed with him as a commentator / summariser. For me he should be superb - the insight he could give as a top class captain but has always tried to be deliberately contrary. Often critical of players and then backtracking etc.

I get that perspective. When it comes to England defeats he is very kneejerk. But what I mean is he does carry a good amount of knowledge of other teams and other players. There are some commentators who do England matches that openly say they don't follow the county scene which is quite lazy.

what is he even on about this time, brexit, lockdown, covid not real?

i bet he's a flat earther. tin foil hat wearer, i bet he doesn't believe we landed on the moon.

jesus. i just clicked on the twitter thing by accident and before i knew it. obviously don't have the full conversation for context but what a mupped

I'm not that keen a cricket follower and don't know anything about Michael Vaughan outside of sport.

But, those are the words of a closet racist. God only know what he says in private. I doubt Vaughan goes 'round the country apologising for all of the crimes committed by people whom he has never met but share some of the same background as him.

Absolutely ludicrous suggestion that any Muslim is responsible for the crimes of other Muslims, and quite clearly a lot more anti-Muslim sentiments will have come out of his mouth in private.

Is this a genuine Michael Vaughan comment? If so, not only is he a racist but he's also extremely numb in that he believes a complex, world-wide issue involving a loose association of religious zealots can be managed with some door to door canvassing in Yorkshire or Birmingham somewhere.

It is sadly

Of course we all know he's a tit, but the sad thing is how the 2005 Ashes will be forever tainted if its confirmed that he's a massive racist
