If he’d told the truth and said money means more to him than a woman being stoned to death, a man being castrated for his sexuality, an innocent person killed by a terrorist, or a bairn being blown up on his/her way to school, and that he didn’t give a shite about any of them he’d be castigated and despised but he couldn’t be accused of being a gutless mouth breathing bottom feeder.

I'm sure he's thought all this through. I don't think taking over at Newcastle was anything like a rash decision for him.
I'd say a project that excites him will be first and foremost on his mind.
The rest outside of his remit will be left to those who want to make issue of it or fight that corner. I'd guess he won't bother getting involved in that.
