What amazed me, growing up on south Tyneside, was the speed in which my mag peers thought they were so superior from 92 onwards. There was zero reflection from anyone I knew with regards to history, even recent history, like the fact we were very similar clubs in the 80s. It was just all ‘yis are shit, only get 20,000 support’ etc etc.

God, I hope this takeover is as disastrous as it is odious.

Yep I’ve been blocked now after a few ‘interactions’ with Kate Stewart. If you look through the history of ‘her’ posts it started off sounding as though it was a foreign woman and it was all about roses and princess Diana but if you look at it now it sounds like some bloke from Byker that will be Steve Wraith or one of his cronies.
 
if i was a mag and my club had just become the richest on the planet i'd be canny underwhelmed. nothing against howe but he's hardly in the class of managers i was expecting. perhaps he's the first one without a conscience they'd offered the job to?

Sadly, this is very wide of the mark. We know that multiple others wanted it or nearly took it.

The truth is, Howe is a reflection of where we currently are - we are step one and for that, imo Howe is a good appointment. I'm not going to lie, I'd have been more wowed with Emery but that doesn't change the fact that Howe will in all likelihood, do a good job.

Fonseca - openly said he was convinced it was his after being interviewed 3x

Emery clearly had expressed interest and been interviewed for it if he had to publically say he was no longer taking it.

There is just two that we know about - they would have held talks with more people. Jamie Rueben is apparently friends with Lampard so be surprised if he wasn't interviewed.
