Mags just can't help themselves being arrogant. Caller on TS said the same thing - we will have EH to keep us up and lay the foundations but then we will move him on and bring a big name in.
Given money is it likely or unlikely that Howe will do a decent job at Newcastle?

If he makes a decent job of it will there or won't there be calls within a couple of years to replace Southgate with an English manager?

You call it arrogance whereas I'd say it is just being realistic. You can get 10s on him now on Betfair.

Given his best signings have tended to be bargains and his failings big money buys then the evidence suggests it's unlikely he'd do a good job

Considering he spent £30 million on Solanke and more or less the same on Jordon Ibe, then I hope he keeps spending.

Solanke seems to be doing the business now. It was too soon for him when Howe signed him, I can see him making the step up. He always had the talent, just needs to stick in and realise his potential.

No - the arrogance in saying "he will do for now but then we will get someone better". It is extremely disrespectful to EH. You are backtracking already and are now saying the pull will be from England whereas before it was conveniently "allowed".

The markets for managers has no depth and moves easily as we have seen recently.
