Sky also reported he was their first choice which is obviously not true
They have no more clue than we do mate. The bookie odds are also never to be considered. £20 on a 10/1 shot and they quickly drop like a stone.
Being realistic they need to be aware of where we are. Deep in the relegation fight. A very tough set of fixtures coming up. A squad that, without Wilson staying fit, will struggle to score against anyone.
We will buy in January however at a level. That level may be higher than we perhaps would have bought under Ashley but anyone thinking we will be signing Grade A stars is going to be very disappointed. Big names rarely move in January and almost never down. Let's be honest, for 99% of the players that will certainly improve us, we are a step down at present.

The thing is he isn't he's a really nice bloke and the fact he's got his tongue so far up the Saudis arse is a stain on his reputation.

Same for sky sports keef a nice lad who's principles have been set aside to benefit with access, obviously not suggesting either one should quit their job and lose their income but there really is no need for them to be the mouthpiece of the Saudis.

The reality is, info is being leaked to them and therefore from a professional point of view, it makes sense for them to remain close to the new owners.

None of the big names want the job. They are now looking at Eddie Howe.

The squad is poor and they cannot do much in January as non of the big name players move in January.

They will be in a relegation battle and no manager of any worth wants that.

plus the “cartel” are out to sink their ship

no loan players from the top clubs

Spurs and chelsea have already wiped the floor with them on the pitch

 They really are making a mess of this like. Whoever comes in now knows they will be 5/6/7th choice. That's the thing with new owners. They make mistakes.
They really need a DoF, maybe they need that first. Sounds like they're aiming to recruit one, and you'd imagine a lot of managers would want to know who they're going to be working with. Added to that, Staveley and the Saudis don't seem to have a clue how to run a football club, so in terms of putting a vision across to managers they'd again benefit from having a DoF in place. Two massive appointments, haven't made either yet. Maybe they'll get it right eventually but it's not a great start like

“you want Lingard on loan? No problem, but we want a £10m loan fee up front and an agreement that you sign him in the Summer for £80m not matter what league you are in”
