Probably the best manager they could attract in their position . Be interesting if he can attract and deal with the big names , it won’t be easy getting them up here .

He didn't attract big names to Arsenal (mind, they weren't spending big money) and it seems he bigger ones already there weren't keen

In his defence he had nothing to do with attracting players to Arsenal. He asked for players and didn't get the ones he wanted. We paid 72m for Pepe, a signing he didn't want. He struggled with big egos at PSG and also at Arsenal. Seemed a decent bloke but not an alpha male and let certain players walk all over him.

How do you reckon he'll do in a gut wrenching relegation battle?

If it is Emery the Nayshun are going to get bored of his style of play very quickly. The great entertainers no more. I'm sure that Arsenal team was conceding about 30 shots per game at the end of his tenure.

Credentials-wise, Emery is probably the best available. That said, paying £6m for a manager and giving him £100k+ a week plus is a huge risk, even for a state-owned team. It's the sort of appointment where, if it fails, people other than the manager are going to be leaving.

So much for a short term bridge appointment to get them to the summer. And still no DoF or Sporting Director. Money or not, I'm still not sure there's a lot of sensible thinking going on there at the minute.

To be fair to Emery he had a cracking team at sevilla, scored a hatful of goals

never quite done it anywhere else though

He's a good manager but not for the situation they're in. They need a Big Sam type. Also if he thinks the stick at Arsenal was bad let me just say he ain't seen nothing compared to the Mags when it's going wrong. Fits their remit. Foreign & won things elsewhere for reflected glory. Statue on order.
