Shameful behaviour from *some* of our fans today

It's a problem the closer the away is to Sunderland. South Yorkshire is an easy day trip. You can guarantee the dickheads (or most of them at least) won't be at Shrewsbury on the 23rd or Cambridge on the 27th of next month. The game against Wednesday on the other hand ......
Seems to be creeping everywhere not just your support
We had 4K at Peterborough last week
Old lads and young lads pissed up , doing coke in the toilets , smoking in the toilets chucking bottles when we scored
All seems to be a follow on from the Euros

I was at the Euro final mate and it’s the worst experience I’ve ever had at football. f***ing awful day and you didn’t feel safe the second you got off the tube.

What happened yesterday was awful, but the final was next level stuff. Truly appalling on so many levels
Then maybe it's the way football is going, maybe another age of violence is upon us, who's to say.

The french league has a huge problem with crowd violence too

PSG game at Marseille was stopped because of it

I agree Hank the foreign leagues have it worse than us but it seems like a few nuggets have followed on the dive who throw beer in the air and sing sweet Caroline
I’m not a shrinking violet but when there is a big game it attracts a few herberts
At our game last week one lad was so pissed he was sick at half time and shit himself , I don’t remember anything like that in the 80s away from home
Also when did the Charlie snorting start at football ? I don’t get that

Bigger the allocation, bigger the problem, especially if a game is more or less guaranteed to go to general sale.
Why would going on general sale attract arseholes? You think your above anyone who can't attend away games and get loyalty points? I've been all over the country following the lads but my lad plays football on a Saturday and can't attend away games....

Well if it does then football can go fuck itself.
i am sure plenty who have heard the stories of the 70s and 80s won't agree, to them it will no doubt be jolly good fun day out, fuelled it seems by drink and now drugs in some cases, not to blame the players of course because it's just a job to them, but its the way the UK is, and if the hooligan element is making a come back plenty of others may decide to go and watch other sports like basketball or cricket or whatever.

If the percentage of arseholes is, say, 10%, then logically there will be more arseholes in a 5,000 allocation than 1,000.

Do they?

Don’t recall seeing much about Spain and German fans. Or Italy for that matter. Their ultras are nut jobs but seem to have moved on from throwing scooters off each other now just storm their own training grounds

Sadly mate, general sale allows the arsehole element the opportunity to purchase tickets. Personally, I’d strongly be in favour of reintroducing the membership scheme and removing general sale completely (which tbf, a lot of clubs have done).

It’s also worth remembering that if you are a season card holder, you can build up points by attending home games in the cups. One of my kids has only been to a couple of aways, but has 20pts through going to home cup games

Actually i was going to go the other way and come out and disagree with you, however, maybe a membership scheme, where people have to provide their details isn't such a bad idea, kind of like when you buy concert tickets, having to sign up online and have a record of the ticket that was bought etc, and in who's name, which could keep certain elements out of football.

Agree with that comment....we seem to be encountering more neanderthals on our travels this season..and the only good thing about yesterday was the fact that the local and connecting trains were on schedule..

File this, and the other recent incidents such as the Euros, under “People Gone Feral”?

I think it is a wider problem than football. Not sure it’s the same over there but here every week there is a new story about some lunatic on a plane/airport, restaurant, shop etc acting horrendously.

The lack of socialization and reduced access to treats has turned some people in to absolute freaks.

I go to every home game but can't do away days now cos my lad plays Saturdays. Used to go to a load of away games, people on here can vouch for that. Just the way it was put across like people with loyalty are better than those who can only go to the odd away games. Boils my piss.

No one has said this but you tbf

3) Arriving well after kick off, Christ it says 3pm kick off on the ticket, surely you should be around the turnstiles by 2.40

There was a massive delay to a number of coaches sue to a crash on the way in to Rotherham, couldn't be helped.

Every other point, aye, I agree.
