I wouldn’t expect any fans to stop supporting their club if a murderous regime took over.

What I wouldnt expect though is for that fan base to not ignore the facts and welcome them with open arms.

I would like to think the fans would actively protest at such an abhorrent group of scumbags tarnishing their clubs reputation and therefore campaign actively for their removal.

To be fair the mags have done this but unfortunately only for Mike Ashley. It appears that the mags view the crime of issuing zero hour contracts as far greater than human rights abuses and murder

No he wrote something about why Newcastle are hated by other clubs using an article written 13 years ago as proof of their hatred and interviews with a couple of fans. One being that True Faith editor who says 'This will make me sound arrogant but it's because they are jealous' which was tone throughout.

Edit: this one

"...few supporters are more wilfully misunderstood..."

- Invading pitch to get games called off v Forest and Sunderland.
- Petrol bombing rival fans.
- Smashing up own city when defeated in derby games.
- Punching a police horse when defeated in a derby.
- Weird fascination in waving assorted footwear about to rival fans.
- A total reinvention of them and their club post '92 to claim that is the norm and ignore the previous 100 years or so.
- More long suffering and more deserving than any other fans in their own mindset.

...and despite all of the above yes the media still fawn over them....very misunderstood imo.

Angel of the North is Gatehead, not Newcastle. They've appropriated enough symbols of the NE without any shame for long enough without the general N.E. population buying into it. And remember, only 50% of the Tyne bridge is "theirs".
What percentage of Sid James Landfill is "theirs" ?

It was pretty mental to start kicking off about it being a f***ing mosque on a flag that was created before the f***ing takeover like 🤣
It’s pretty mental putting Spanish city on a Newcastle flag. Is there anything you don’t try and claim as yours? I always wondered why you got called the magpies, it’s obvious and I can’t believe I never got it before, like the birds you have a natural compulsion to steal. It’s perfect..

Lets be honest they stole their colours and their nickname from Notts County

It's not as mental as you lot kicking off that it's a mosque and arranaging a pile on, on a tweet about a flag that was made before the takeover even happened like 🤣
