Shameful behaviour from *some* of our fans today

Have always been very proud of our support around the time of the Remberence Day and everyone on the terrace/seats did the right thing today but the knobs making the noise below the stand need f***ing with a raggy barge pole. Disappointed.
We walked in the ground at 10 to 3, went to the bog, then at that time went in to tunnel to go up to me seat.
Up until the point i could actually see the pitch, i had absolutly no idea they were doing their rememberence tribute.
So i say that 99% of the people below the stand, had no idea there was any thing going on for Rememberence Sunday, bearing in mind we are stiil in Oct and rememberence Sunday is at least two weeks away
Even when i saw what was going on, on the pitch it still took me a couple of moments to realise what was actually going on.

I wonder if this is a post-pandemic society thing. My daughter, who is 21, had a gang of 14 year old lads asking for a fight with her and her friends on the Metro recently. I have had abuse from kids in the street, gangs on the Metros etc. Behaviour in schools is terrible at the moment. I think people have forgotten how to behave.
Unfortunately I just think it's the way society has been heading for years. Far too many I'm alright Jack self entitled arseholes. There's very little community spirit anymore and a lot less people are prepared to accept responsibility for their own actions. I don’t think that the pandemic has caused it, but it's certainly highlighted the selfishness that now exists.

I don't mean to sound disrespectful but, a lot of those doing the job are not exactly equipped physically either. Yes the job isn't just about stopping bother however there's a lot of younguns, probably students earning some pocket money, doing it for example. I would imagine they have no powers of arrest and would be reluctant to get involved anyway.

Completely mate. There’s an older lady near me and whilst she is lovely, she will never be able to deter troublemakers

Starts in the home. By the time the schools get them they are fighting a losing battle.

I work In schools and the amount of abuse the school administration recieve is astonishing. The lack of respect people have these days is shocking. Just look at this place.

And there's no reason why she shouldn't be doing the job. There's other reasons we need people like her around. However a group of pissed/coked up nobheads would look and have the attitude of "it's only some old wife..."

you have to believe that the good people will always outnumber the bad and good will always triumph over evil. when you see the way society is going and has changed over the years it's one thing to cling on to.
this might sound like some sort of religious claptrap but it's really not meant to, it's just my thoughts

Anybody who knows anybody who took part in any of these incidents much report them to the club and the police. If found guilty the club must then issue life time bans on all of them and to confirm if anybody is caught buying a ticket for them in the future they too will be given a lifetime ban.

just for balance, the rotherham fans in that corner seemingly led by the nitwit in the bizarre jester outfit spent nearly all game chucking abuse at the away fans. i noticed the bloke with the red stone island top was with his kids. they were sitting a block away and he would go down to them then back up to his mates to join in the goading of our fans.

edit, i'm just pointing out there was arseholes on both sides.
best to ignore people like him, he's just a fool

Well said mate.
Drove to the game yesterday so didn't have a drink before the game, let's you see things from the other side. Got to admit as a mature male I find the young'uns behaviours aggravating as fuck. When they turn up on mass they show no consideration for those around them, had to physically shift one who thought it was OK to stand directly in front of me, 2 young lasses (mid teens) behind me in the 1st half sang every song in the screechiest voices ever, admired they wanted to be part of it but fuck me it was painful, the endless need to record and take pictures of themselves does my nut in on the best of days but I realise it's a generational thing. The peado chanting gets right on my tits as it's a bit hypocritical as we had a convicted real life 1 playing for us. Got to go sober on Tuesday again and hoping to be at least surrounded drunken fuckers my own/similar age so I can feel more at home.

First away game I've been to since lockdown.
The level of bad behaviour had noticeably increased since my last game
The shouting/noise during the minutes silence was an absolute disgarce.
Those doing it should hang their heads in shame

Just been talking to a mate who was there today. Says a number of our fans let themselves down

One group of lads got pissed up and weren’t allowed in the ground

Another were singing racist songs to an Asian family on the way from a pub.

And a large group of lads were hoying coins at at Rotherham fans for a lot of the game

We’re very quick to criticise when the likes of Coventry come up and misbehave so it’s annoying when we let ourselves down

Which side? I was to the right, right next to their fans, and I honestly didn’t see any coins being thrown, especially ‘a lot’. Obviously whoever hit that lass with one is a complete ****.
Their fans were goading us all game, and there was the usual gesturing between supporters that you get in that situation.

My wife was a teacher until recently and was physically threatened by a Year 7 boy. I just feel that we are in for a rough ride over the next few years as people's behaviour worsens post pandemic - people have forgotten how to behave. I agree with you but am seeing strange behaviour post pandemic on a regular basis.

A lot of kids live life online now and don't physically interact outside of school with others. I'm in my 40s and learned where the boundaries were growing up in the back lane and knocking around with my mates. I was certainly no angel, but knew when to stop and what to say and not to say to people. They see manufactured stuff on YouTube and think it's the normal way to behave.

Its bad enough seeing us get humped again by a league 1 side but it is shameful that some of our "fans" have been throwing coins at kids & engaged in deeply offensive chanting.

We've always taken pride in the fact that despite not having a very good team we've always had a fantastic following & we've earned respect from other clubs for our commitment & loyalty.

The mindless arseholes in question are a stain on our good name and I can only hope most fair minded people would think they were a minority & not a true reflection of our wider support base.

Mate was there yesterday with his young lad. Text this morning saying that's him done with away games, too many arseholes. Racist chanting, Charlie Wyke songs, people looking for bother, lads chucking up in the streets, smashing fences down etc. Sad state of affairs.
