Shameful behaviour from *some* of our fans today

The return of crowds seems to have brought about a return in knackers across the country. It's happening everywhere sadly, and if those around aren't challenging it it'll not change.

One big thing I've noticed at our place is no coppers around inside the ground. Few vans outside, but virtually no presence inside.

Sadly, it’s very much more prevalent at this level due to the soft touch security within the grounds. Since we dropped, I’ve seen a lot more trouble then I ever did whilst we were in the Prem or even championship.

If you take the SOL for example, we have been very generous with away allocations when in reality we should have been a bit stricter - especially given the limited number of coppers and the fact clubs often sell tickets in general sale

There is a difference between goading opposition fans and hoying coins at young lasses and chanting racist abuse at an Asian family. .
Just to clarify.
I don't need clarification thanks and never made any kind of comparison. I was commenting on what I saw with my own eyes. Just to clarify.

The club need to be informed really. As I posted at the start, these short trips always attract absolute bellends that are no where to be seen at Crewe on a Tue night.

My opinions on ticketing are pretty unpopular 😂 but more does need to be done to ensure those eligible are actually going
North stand should be fun for the return visit now.

The North Stand this year seems to have already attracted a number of bellends.

Was gonna post that as a "group" of away "supporters" we were shite -
1) Late comers making a racket through the bugle & minutes silence
2) Whining at every misplaced pass
3) Arriving well after kick off, Christ it says 3pm kick off on the ticket, surely you should be around the turnstiles by 2.40
4) Leaving early, part of any sport is getting an occasional twatting, stay and support!
5) We do not want coin throwers there, no excuse, we'll get reduced allocations & innocent SAFC supporters will get caught in the crossfire

Sort it out and stop it!!
The reason some may have arrived late, was due to the 7 car pile up on the M1 between Jct 45 & 46, also the M18 was also shut at the sametime. It delayed us getting to the ground. Just landed in time for KO.

Said this a few weeks ago.
We normally walk past the away busses parked near the foundation of light after the game and it’s going to end up nasty as there has been hardly any coppers at all there.

I think that's what led to the singing during the remembrance commemoration. A lot turned up late because of the traffic and entered the ground singing not aware of what was going on.

Haha fair enough Hank

Tbf, the problems in the North Stand tend to start in the second half when kids start to congregate in the lower tier. Now if they were just singing, it would be fine but instead they spend the entire 45 mins facing the away fans and then act themselves outside of the ground. Sadly they seem to get egged on by adults as well

The clubs are probably cutting back on costs and using security firms that pay their staff minimum wage instead. A few year back Boro has no coppers at all at certain games.

This

The problem is, the troublemakers know that the security firms have no real power and aren’t bothered. It’s exactly the same with Wembley, where despite the problems over the summer, it is still a very soft touch

I wonder if this is a post-pandemic society thing. My daughter, who is 21, had a gang of 14 year old lads asking for a fight with her and her friends on the Metro recently. I have had abuse from kids in the street, gangs on the Metros etc. Behaviour in schools is terrible at the moment. I think people have forgotten how to behave.

I don't mean to sound disrespectful but, a lot of those doing the job are not exactly equipped physically either. Yes the job isn't just about stopping bother however there's a lot of younguns, probably students earning some pocket money, doing it for example. I would imagine they have no powers of arrest and would be reluctant to get involved anyway.

You missed the bit about pockets of fans turning on each other over wether it was the referee that was shit or the team was shit… absolutely embarrassing. One thing you don’t do is turn on your own when things aren’t going right, it was absolutely pathetic, literally got to the point where it could have turned into a rumble.
At 4-1 down and that happening, enough was enough so I fucked off

That's always happened. 'Remember at Middlesbrough one year, was the 2-2 when we were two nowt up back around 1994, people around me taking exception to me saying something like it was a "decent result all things considered". They just wanted to tell the players they were shite and really didn't want someone else saying they weren't shite. You'd have thought I'd asked them when is the next time your wife is on her own in the house so I can pop 'round the way some of them went on.

Loads of people always used football as a means of letting out their personal frustrations, I always wondered why those types of people were there. What a way to spend your hard earned: travelling hundreds of miles to abuse footballers, referees and opposing fans. 'Never understood it, I was always there to support Sunderland not get on their backs or goad the opposition fans or referee.
