To be honest, and I've said it before, it's entertaining for me to try and make a point that is irrefutable, even in the face of the most blinkered of internet Sunderland fans.

You're right though, ultimately no matter what facts, or reasonable points I put on here there'll be some who will contort themselves with mental gymnastics to argue the other way. Said it to Binxy (who I think replies to me more for sport, than anything else) they'd argue it was sunny if I walked in wet.

I do this while I'm doing other stuff, it's not exactly taxing stuff on here ;)
You said just a couple of rants ago that you should step back, so go on then step back, go over to your own forum and stop stinking this one out with your gravy/bloodstained posts.
Your club is owned by murderers whichever way you try to spin it, they put up the money, they own you and your fans have not got the club back, please do us a favour and piss off!

Took, maybe 30 seconds.
The majority of your fanbase has been scrambling to defend them, if not celebrate them, for the past couple of weeks. The embarrassing scenes at the Spurs game were covered in great depth, without any mention of any reservations that you insist you all have.

Do you ever think about the amount of time you are spending on here trying desperately to pretend your club is redeemable? And wonder why you feel the need to do so?

I think on some level you know exactly what you’re being criticized for and can’t begin to defend it without distraction/deflection/whataboutism.

There's a couple of things there. There are dozens of twitter accounts with Saudi flags and there were a handful of daft lads wear headscarves and the like. But the ground holds 50,000 odd Newcastle fans and an overwhelming majority were not doing the same. So, to paint the fanbase off the back of a few, is ridiculous.

The fans are excited by the prospect of a future propped up by the untold riches of the new owners. Of course they are, literally every club without that kind of money would want that kind of money.

The new majority owners are murderers and bigots and tyrants. So every signing, every development, every 'success' will come with a big f***ing asterisk. And rightly so.

But almost every single Newcastle fan I've spoken to about this says they're conflicted.

To suggest that Newcastle fans as a collective are somehow in favour of beheading gay people, or bombing Yemenis (not sure if that's the right term), is f***ing silly.

They are two very distinct things.

One is an indefensible regime. The other is a fanbase that you're accusing collectively of supporting an indefensible regime. And you're doing that without rational thinking, because you support Sunderland and think that hating Newcastle and it's fans is part and parcel of that support.
How many stood and rapturously applauded Yasir al-Rumayyan, one of MBS's right hand men, at the Spurs game?

How many signed the petition which basically said MBS is a good egg?

They’ve all got reservations though mate.

Stood at home, adjusting their head-dress in the mirror thinking “I AM concerned about what is going on in Yemen…maybe I should rethink the fancy dress?….nah, this looks class and they might sign Mbappe”

What shipyards have ever been in newcastle? Pretty sure swan Hunter etc was north tyneside like the apparent coast in Newcastle and anything else good that’s it’s tried to adopt 🤔
The Metrocentre
Hilton Hotel
The Sage
The Baltic
The Millenium Bridge
The Angel of the North

All thanks to Gateshead council, a town in its own right on the other side of the water, yet Newcastle claim them as their own.

Is @The Fish the person in car treats video? Seriously?

If the bloke in the video is Ian Cusak?
There's no way it's the fish.

Here's what Cusak wrote about the Internet generation and the proposed takeover:

"Despite the wonderful work of Bill Corcoran and the NUFC Food Bank, witness how such good actions are dwarfed by the amount of Newcastle fans untroubled by the proposed Saudi takeover. If this had been 20 years ago, we’d have seen regular 2,000-word articles in The Mag arguing the pros and cons of this potential deal; now it’s far easier to send a Tweet calling anyone who opposes the takeover a Mackem, without soiling your frontal lobes with thoughts about morality and football club ownership."

There's no way the fish would have written that.

I've said it before, but the fans are defending the club as they see criticism of the club as an attack. They shouldn't defend the Saudis (or Staveley or Reuben for that matter) but they will. In a similar way to Scousers defending Suarez, or some of your lot defending Johnson. That isn't whataboutery, that's just an objective acknowledgement that football is tribal and when the tribe feels attacked, they'll muster a defence. It might be a stupid f***ing defence, but they do it. Newcastle fans are not alone in this regard.
You've cited our 'defence' of Adam Johnson as an equivalence of this before. The moment Adam Johnson was sentenced there was plenty of criticism of our club. Why didn't we see that as an attack that we were determined to defend? Why didn't we in our thousands take to Twitter with whataboutery to try and justify a support of him? All of the Saudi's atrocities are there for all to see and it's still being defended.

Stop trying to defend the indefensible.
