For about six months last year, PIF invested in about 3% of Disney. They're trying to equate a 3% stake in a huge public company (no different to what their pension funds might do) with an 80% stake (and total control) of a small private company.
Oh well, that's completely logical then. Guess I can't criticise anything they do, or their owners.

Yeah the Little Mermaid also cuts up journos apparently
Nor mate, thats goofy. The little mermaid is on stoning this week.
:lol:They’re as obsessed with Disney as they were with transparency. It’s their new word. Pathetic.

You’re basically a Saudi lover if you like Disney as they have a (very) small investment in them. Same with Uber. It’s all they can reply with.
They dont have shares in Disney mate.

The usual "we didn't choose the owners" appearing again with this paragraph in the article I see.

Newcastle United fans never had a vote on who the owners of the club would be, it is only Mike Ashley who decided that, so we as supporters have had this situation landed on top of us. Hopefully the way that the vast majority of us will act in the years ahead, will in some small way help progress to be made in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere.
What is that for a pile of steaming horse shit. How many signatures did that "petishun" get? About twice the capacity of chop chop park wasn't it?

Bollocks

firstly, they marched on parliament and over 100,000 of them signed a petition in favour of it.

then they danced in the streets when it happened.

so don’t try and distance yourselves from it now

secondly, don’t flatter yourselves you are very insignificant to Saudi and will not help progress be made in Saudi Arabia

What’s this Disney carry on then

Are they wrong uns aswell

They keep trying to create a false equivalence.

Basically that the PIF ownership of NUFC is identical to the PIF having a very small percentage of Disney shares bought on the open market.

Therefore if you criticise PIF ownership of NUFC but watch a Disney film you're a hypocrite.

It's the most obviously flawed equivalence possible, but it's just another "Whataboot" spurious argument used as a deflection designed to stop people discussing the real issue.

NUFC are wholly owned the PIF, which is a subsidiary of the KSA, which has bought the club to change the west's perception of it as an undemocratic kingdom ruled by one family underpinned by a religious bureacracy which allows horrendous human rights violations against gay people women etc, and has been bombing the Yemen back to the stone age in a proxy war with Iran resulting in over 100, 000 deaths.

Quite how that equates to watching "Frozen" or "101 Dalmatians" I have no idea.

Exactly. Pif do not control the narrative at the quoted companies they invest in, usually less than 0.5%, unlike the 80% control at mags.
They're not getting this.

They don't own Disney and uber outright though 🤔. Also on the subject of transparency they got that "OK they are a bunch of women subjugating, gay hating murders who abhor the west and all it stands for...but never mind we are finally rich 💰 🤑
