Everyone one else left in the League Cup wants to play us.

I've no affiliation to Sunderland at all but since becoming a member of this site and the welcome I've had I genuinely look out for Sunderland's results now and have to admit I am rather excited by your cup run.
I was on a flight to the UK whilst you were playing QPR and the first thing I did upon landing was check to see if you had won!!

I will be at Hillsborough next week, my first game for about 3 years, but apart from that game I want to see you progress.

If I was a Sunderland fan I would be wanting Arsenal at home. Glamour tie with a chance of winning. Be great to see you in the Semi's.
Enjoy Hillsborough and expect a much more improved performance from your lads

According to Twitter.

Because they all think it's the easiest tie. Condescending bastards.

Thats a good thing, particularly if we get a home tie and full house behind us.

Hopefully they will be so condescending, and arrogant, that they will field a weakened side, and we will certainly give it a go.

Hope we get liverpool at home.

Seems like a lot of sides are taking it seriously after watching the highlights on Quest last night. Liverpool looked to be the only side to make major changes.

It's good that everyone wants to play us, hopefully, that brings about complacency to whoever we play.

Lowest ranked team and it counts for nothing.
Fine margins and only have to look at Preston last night, missed chances first half.
You need a home tie next, sell out crowd with the opposition putting out a weakened side.
Anything is possible in 90 minutes and even more unpredictable in a penalty shoot out. Whatever the outcome next game is a bonus and pressure is off.
Win and you can all but dream, lose and all about promotion.
Good place to be in 👍

Stick around always enjoy your posts.
A few non Sunderland fans on this message Board cause no harm. Behave and you get treated superbly. Act a cock and retribution.
Sure you will get some stick but thick skin and all that.
UTO.

To be expected…but it is great that we are the only team left flying the flag for the EFL and IF we can spring another surprise in the quarters then people will really start to sit up and take notice

Without wanting to start an argument, who is going to sit up and take notice of us winning a league cup quarter final tie against a weakened premier league team?

I would’ve thought that would be fairly obvious given the league we’re in. Hopefully complacency goes in our favour whoever we come up against.

be class whatever happens. no-lose scenario really, a totally free hit. i hope for:

home tie
35-40k attendance
competitive game
mixture of youth and main squad from the opposition
us to score at least once
Dan Neil to get MOTM
Lee Johnson to use it as a learning curve
and win, if possible. or not lose by more than 1
