Sounds like someone needs to use more lube with all that friction they're experiencing.

No it isn't.

Back to burning paper with a magnifying glass.
Heat from the sun comes through magnifying glass (no friction yet), the glass isn't moving so is not encountering any friction, onto a piece of paper (not moving, no friction)... the heat is concentrated, the paper starts to smoke then burn and there's a fire. Light and heat created without friction. No moving parts, no friction.

If you think things can operate without friction then go with that.

Show me where the friction is in what I've just described to you then? Actual friction rather than talking about agitated atmosphere or pressure stages

And why does the paper to have to be in an exact spot based on focal length if its just the friction coming through the glass.
