No issues with the banner or Palace fans, just like with the Man City takeover all the noise will die down eventually and even if it doesn't being hated is fun. I respect the small minority of football fans that are genuine when they say they wouldn’t want the Saudis owning them but the vast majority that pretend they would act any different to Newcastle fans do make me laugh.
Being hated for supporting one of the most abhorrent regimes on the planet is fun.

You're clearly moraly bankrupt.
What a wanker.🤷‍♂️

Unfortunately I think this is true. The local politicians have seen to that. Even the MPs down in Stockton and Bishop Auckland got involved ffs, throwing their weight behind that ridiculous petition glorifying Bin Salman.

The full list of MPs who have asked the Premier League for transparency or expressed support for the NUFC Trust are as follows:

● Ian Mearns (Labour – Gateshead)
● Kate Osbourne (Labour – Jarrow)
● Chi Onwurah (Labour – Newcastle Central)
● Sharon Hodgson (Labour – Washington and Sunderland West)
● Liz Twist (Labour – Blaydon)
● Ian Levy (Conservative – Blyth Valley)
● Alex Cunningham (Labour – Stockton North)
● Emma Lewell-Buck (Labour – South Shields)
● Catherine McKinnel (Labour - Newcastle upon Tyne North)
● Richard Holden (Conservative - North West Durham)
● Ian Lavery (Labour - Wansbeck)
● Mary Kelly Foy (Labour - City of Durham)
● Dehena Davison (Conservative - Bishop Auckland)
● Mary Glindon (Labour - North Tyneside)
● Anne-Marie Trevelyan (Conservative - Berwick Upon Tweed)
● Kevan Jones (Labour - North Durham)
● Kevin Hollinrake (Conservative - Thirsk and Malton)
● Guy Opperman (Conservative - Hexham)
● Alan Campbell (Labour - Tynemouth)

Absolutely disgraceful that Labour MPs aren't saying more about the Saudi's human rights record.

Emma Lewin-Buck particularly given the Yemeni origins of many Shields folk.

This won't die down, whilst there are similarities it's totally different to the City takeover.

 you wish.

Deflect deflect deflect :lol::lol:

No we didn't, we fought to highlight the unfair influence that the top 6 have over the rest of the league. Something that was later proven to be warranted as they tried to push through the ESL.

The takeover was obviously the platform that initially allowed this to be explored but was not the only aim. I'm all for Tracey Crouch's findings and for an independent regulator.

The only reason Newcastle care about the ‘unfair influence’ of the top 6, is because they want to be part of it.
Also, you are a massive hypocrite.

The ironic thing is had the Saudis bought any other English Club, the Mags would be saying exactly what every other club in the country is saying. Similar to the ESL they shouted because they weren't invited. The PL were corrupt. Apparently not any more. Biggest set of wankers in the world. Now disciples of monsters who commit genocide and many other atrocities. It wouldnt surprise me if they declared the Shit tip as a Vatican like state, where Saudi law ensues. And the sick twats would go along with it as they have "hope"
We would have taken their money just like every other club in the world.

Clubs can display as many banners as they like, they will just hang in there until all the fuss dies down.

It doesn't mean they are going to win everything though!!!

The banner doesn't imply that at all tbh. The banner has a Saudi on it with "PIF", the quotation marks clearly there to show that everyone knows the PL is talking shit when they pretend there's separation and that actually we all know it's the Saudi regime in charge. That being the case, it is clearly being implied that the Saudi regime, the real owners of NUFC, are responsible for the crimes etc on the banner, and that it should have led to them not being approved to buy a club. If isn't suggesting in any way that all Saudis are responsible for them. To suggest it is is to take a pretty big leap. And I know the post you mean, I criticised it, but this isn't even remotely similar
You must agree though it's a very well thought out factual banner, also you best get used to it.

Did you mean to quote me? I don't need to get used to anything, I'm not a mag, and my post was blatantly saying its a good banner, nothing is wrong with it and the police shouldn't waste any time investigating it

She was asked for comment, but did not respond:

A calling on the UK government to launch an independent investigation into the EPL’s takeover process has received over 100,000 signatures. Prime Minister Boris Johnson heeded those calls on Sunday, when he urged the league to release a statement on why the Saudis withdrew and why the process took so long.

In addition, more than 6,000 Newcastle United fans lobbied their local members of parliament to put pressure on the EPL.

Among them was South Shields MP Emma Lewell-Buck, who demanded answers and greater transparency.

Lewell-Buck has spoken out in the past against the civil war in Yemen, and the UK’s role in selling arms to Saudi Arabia. It is unclear where she stands on the takeover attempt.

MEE asked the South Shields MP what her message was to Yemeni and Muslims constituents who had spoken out against Saudi involvement in their football club. She was unavailable for comment.

This sentence elsewhere in that article says a lot:

MEE were in contact with other Yemenis from South Shields who had similar concerns about the takeover, but did not want to speak publicly due to fear of a backlash from local football fans.

You're probably right and I'm in the camp where I wouldnt have gone back until they were gone. What we wouldn't have done is absolutely begged the murdering bastards to buy us and did the things they've done regards protesting. And the amount of Whataboutery is off the scale.

I don't think anyone is stopping people from criticising any brutal regime. The 'facts' whether we like it or not are that the EPL agreed that PIF is separate to the state. However much we disagree and all know it isn't, that's the 'fact'.

This banner, therefore implies that all people from Saudi Arabia are guilty of these crimes and that is discriminatory and racist - they aren't.

This takeover is already spreading hatred. One fella on a thread on here earlier stated he hated all Arabs or words even worse but to that effect which was removed.
Aye it was me who flagged it up. To be fair to the lad who said it he accepted he got it wrong and didn’t mean all Arabians. I’ve not said much on this topic but I really think this could backfire on both Newcastle and the UK govt. Rightly in my view there are protests like this but the Saudi regime won’t take them well. Newcastle will become isolated, hated and then could be ditched without a plan and if the UK public appear to be against the saudi’s , which they have every right to be, but I bet some is driven by racism, there may be a cancellation of a few future arms/ trade deals. Honestly mean this, I’d much rather we had who we had. It feels unsettling not stabilising and could end in tears.

I don’t think it will die down at all. In fact I think it will escalate and gather momentum. So at least you will be able to carry on seeing it as “fun”
