You lot really need to have a look at how you are going on.

You're laying into Newcastle fans for being happy that there's been a change of ownership. You're delusional if you think people were celebrating outside of the ground anything other than Ashley going. In fact right now, until a player is bought, the only person that's benefitted from the change is Ashley, the man who didn't give two fucks where the money comes from or any of the shit that goes with it. Why haven't you had a go at him rather than the fans?

Why haven't the other clubs had a go at him for that? The unpalatable truth is they don't care about the human rights abuse in Saudi, they're just bothered about how the Saudi money will affect their balance sheet. You're just bothered about it because your rivals will probably start winning all sorts of things in time. I bet there isn't hundreds of pages of comments about this takeover on other club boards. Not to the extent that you have reacted.

I don't blame you for being pissed off about the situation. I've been pissed off for years that we were stuck with someone who had no interest in the club. He's abused the fan/club relationship for his own benefit for years. You're going to find yourselves looking on as Newcastle become a real player in the league. It will all be down to the money the Saudis hoy at it. It's tainted but what do you expect the fans to do?

You probably won't agree but perhaps the best thing that could happen is Newcastle start winning the league year after year. Perhaps then the clique of clubs that were ready to fuck off to a super league might start campaigning for a proper spending limit that all clubs in the league could match. Then perhaps the league would become a proper competition again. They were quite content to divvy up the trophies between themselves for the past 20 years but now there's a chance they could start to miss out they're bothered. They're not bothered about this deal tainting the league. They know their own supporters aren't going to stop going to games or pack in Sky.

Am I personally bothered about human rights in Saudi. No I'm not. If I was sufficiently bothered about it then I think I may have taken the opportunity to make a protest before they came in to buy any club. If you had protested then good on you, but if you haven't but are now making a big issue of it then I don't think you are bothered about it either, you're just bothered about the potential difference between where the clubs will be in a few years.

I quite liked Gary Neville's opinion on the takeover. Perhaps by them coming into the spotlight they might be persuaded to make an effort to modernise. Will they? I doubt it. If they did would you accept it's been a good move? No you wouldn't because the overriding problem with this takeover is not about human rights but how it impacts other clubs.

I think there a few countries and circumstances that threaten those things a lot more. Putin and his manipulation of gas, Xi and his designs on Taiwan, the North Korean nut job, the impact of the internet on politics, right wing parties gerrymandering and disenfranchising voters. Even all them pale into insignificance when viewed against climate change. There's going to be some serious shit for future generations to contend with in the near future that will be a lot more bothersome than Newcastle buying the league.
you lot seem to forget Ashley saved you from going under

The Mags keep quoting “another green eyed monster that is jealous” whenever they face criticism from other fans.

They don’t realise that virtually every owner in the PL is a billionaire these days. There’s a reason why Chelsea, Man City/UTD aren’t throwing billions around in players. They don’t get their ownership aren’t going to spend billions on players.

They’ve appointed the assistant to the failed manager as their new manager for the foreseeable future.

The Saudis wanted a PL club to add to the investment portfolio. Staying up is all that concerns them.

I actually pity NUFC fans now 😔

Anyone ever watched the Thick of It? I recall an episode when an election is called and the Tory Spin Doctor tells them to all look on the Z: drive. It is almost as if that has happened as it is so orchestrated:

- Saudi owner of Sheff Utd;
- PSG;
- Aramco sponsorship of Man Utd;
- Uber, Twitter....
- F1;
- Horseracing (new on courtesy of Billy the Fish this week);
- Man City;
- Russians;
- Anthony Joshua

Is there a Z drive they are all accessing that gives them the necessary responses?

The f***ing hypocrites.

Hell on when MA renamed it.

Following on from their wrists being slapped about Arab dress (trust me the fact they've said the murdering bastards weren't insulted is pure bullshit otherwise they wouldn't ask them to refrain) this is systematical sportswashing at its finest. The woman, gays and alcohol will be gone within 2 years. f***ing disgusting. The twats have now infiltrated our game. Watch how it snowballs.
They aren’t bothered at all. Had a few messages from mags I know calling themselves Saudi mags. They’ve lost all sense of who they are as a football club already. They’ll never speak out against the regime like they did with Ashley purely because of investing into their club to ‘keep their mouths shut’ about human rights etc. ‘Nothing to do with us, we didn’t choose the owners’. No you didn’t choose the owners you begged for the premier league to pass it, went down to the premier league to protest, started online petitions. Basically prostituted themselves to a rotten ownership. I would have respect for them if they just said we want success at any cost. We wanted the Saudis because they’re minted. The fact they are wearing Arab clothing and waving Saudi flags tells you all you need to know about them. That’s why it only strengthens my dislike of them.

I think they’re all singing from the same hymn sheet to try and justify it. Sad really as they must know deep down they’ve been bought by blood money.

Imagine your life being that good that you sit and write this at 2am. Great stuff

I've never wanted Palace to win as much as today.
Do you think that there will be any demos or owt?
I expect there'll be something in the pipeline, I won't see a banner as I'm upper Holmesdale.
Haway the Ultras, sing about murderers etc to remind them no one likes them @raba

That's Liverpool added to the club's that hate them
I like a good sing song about murderous regimes.

Aye the chants of "fuck of man city were richer than you" all about celebrating ashley leaving.

Spot on 👍

'We have an opportunity now, being associated with the Saudis, of encouraging western morality – and standing up when we are offended. I don’t see Geordies being naive in this.'

this is great. Its what people in the uk wanted to hear.
They aren't going to wear Saudi fancy dress and MBS masks, but take their owners to task on their horrendous human rights violations, and their kidnapping and murdering of people.
It took Christianlity 500 years to get from the end of the medeval period to the relatively benign state it is in now. Think they've got a massive job on their hands trying to persuade the Saudis like.

Bloody hell, I’m not reading all that, probably all Saudi propaganda anyway.

Here’s a question for you though, if the Saudi’s were to throw enough money at it and eventually buy a trophy or two, would those trophies carry the same value/prestige as trophies that are won on merit?

Many thanks to everybody who voted (over 3,000 Newcastle fans responding) and the poll result is….

‘Would you be in favour of selling St James Park naming rights if it would mean massive extra revenue coming into the club, to use to help make NUFC successful?’

Yes – 68%

No – 32%

That's f***ing unbelievable.

They keep saying 'any other fans would be the same''. They absolutely wouldn't like - hard to imagine any football fans going on like that, but there's thousands of them supporting the club up the road.

What's the Anthony Joshua whataboutery? Missed that one 😂
