Fox Hunting

It’s your turn now after that comment ;)

Those numbers however are mostly with a shotgun and no more than 30yds
Now that’s what I’m talking about!!! Must be over run down there. I used to grouse beat at catterick for all the officers and they loved a fox getting killed. ‘Well done beeeeeteeers’ in the poshest voice ever would greet us.
I’ve just bought some thermal imaging and it’s a game changer
We had them along time ago. I bet they are loads better nowadays. Do you visit the night vision forum? Been a while since I was on like.

Going on land to help our farmers I have no issues with, it’s the jolly boys outing I hate and yea that lot are usually up their own arse I’ve seen it first hand in the forces people in positions for who they know and not what they know. Fact is the bloke who’s been found guilty is one of them, I have said hunting as a sport should be banned but not sanctioned hunts to help farmers on their lands. Every animal can be seen as a pest to someone.

my main issue is the hunts with the dogs but like stated i understand why other hunts happen.these are total
Cowards and up their own arses
You just don’t like Ruperts do ya  Understandable.

There's a fox comes along my garden wall about half 9 or 10 every night. We leave food out for him (or her) all the time. Fried potatoes for him (or her) tonight.

It's nice to be nice.
My near neighbours have seen one going down the side of my house and onto the drive on their security cameras..i'd noticed some footprints in the fresh snow last winter..was weird because there was only two footprints side by side..according to my neighbours when a fox walks it's back foot goes into the footprint that the forward one just made..so there you go.

Using terriers to flush and then push to 3-4 guns. Some get through mind as they are very quick and very agile.

Every day is a school day.

Shoot foxes.
It’s illegal to hunt foxes with hounds

You went a bit quiet on the other thread where you were claiming that trail hunts were just that because it was illegal and if it were a smokescreen it would soon be seen through - and then the evidence of the zoom calls that led to this trial showed it was exactly that. I think they even used the word smokescreen at some point.

Over and over again, hunts deliberately flouting the law and lying to the world that they are just trail hunting. But now they've been seen for what they are and what they do. Only sad thing is that they've got away with it for years.

So the lad was right then? If any rules were broken they would be seen through straight away. Which they were and the person guilty of it was prosecuted and dealt with. A stark warning to any other hunts attempting this. The rules work. Move on.

You won’t find anyone against these hunts as much as me mate but they are being caught and being punished I mean strong jail sentences will help for me but we are moving forward to ban hunting with hounds and as a blood sport.

When I was a child we had loads of Hedgehogs, Skylarks and Curlews living in large numbers alongside Badgers prior to the culls.

New research is suggesting that culling actually increases the incidence of bovine TB. IIRC they're moving to inoculation.

Food supply is changing and Badgers are moving out further.
A set near me they are travelling near on a mile for farm pickings under darkness.
Curlew nesting places here are doing well, with no badgers in the vicinity.
Crows are controlled however.
Most dead badgers on the road are not road kill but farmers disposing of the bodies after gassing sets. Sad but factual.
Miss treating, force feeding, neglect is far more common within the food/meat industry. You find that people who shoot for sport have already gave the bird/ animal a sporting chance. For example pheasants live a great life until the moment they are shot whilst a chicken is force fed. Forced to grow in squalid conditions the slaughtered upside down hanging from their feet.

We have a couple of Pheasants as residential pets :)
They know they are safe here. Get fed every day and roost in the trees to avoid the foxes. The daft Lab likes chasing them off, tail wagging and it’s almost like they know he isn’t a threat.
Virtually feed one out of my hand. Would never dream of shooting them as would feel extremely guilty.

No, not at all, and you obviously aren't aware of any of the background to what we're talking about.

Hunts have been using trail hunting as a smokescreen for breaking the law for years, and they've only been busted in a big way because they were stupid enough to have 100+ hunt masters, representing over half the UK hunts, on a zoom seminar talking about better ways to avoid being seen to break the law, which someone on the call then leaked to the sabs.

So no, they weren't seen through straight away, and no the rules don't work and haven't worked since the 'ban' was introduced. Which is why hunts are suspended - and hopefully will soon be banned - on huge swathes of land right now owned by the National Trust, Forestry England, United Utilities and others, because they've been lying for years about what they do.

I didn’t want to comment on the pending trial and I was surprised the post didn’t get pulled to be honest . But, snitches get stitches so I didn’t report it either.
I fully agree that if someone has done wrong that they should face the consequences and that goes for either side of the divide. I only follow one hunt and know that trails are laid every meet.
The daughter actually rides and has seen foxes whilst out , all running in the opposite direction and never seen one killed. They’d obviously been disturbed and got out of there and it’s a bit comical how inefficient it is. However, it’s a good day, great tests of a rider but unless you involved it’s difficult to understand what it means to a community. Similar to the dolphins thing that people got fixated on the other week
