No. And to be honest that doesn't surprised me. I used to hang out in the backcountry a lot when I was in my early 20s. At this time of year in Appalachia (where he's rumored to be) even with relatively little gear you wouldn't have much issue with staying away for a couple months when your only expense is food. The pain point is going somewhere to actually buy the food, but there are towns close enough to remote hiking trails that it really wouldn't be much of an issue. With an expedition-size pack and relatively gear-light, you can travel with 30 pounds of food at a time. That lasts a while. Just take cash and no phone, stay off the headliner hiking trails, and you're a lot of the way there.
