It won't go away imo, much in the same way the mags (including the magedia) always reminded us about Di Canio's political affiliation.

I think that's a joke in fairness.

I'm not sure how much the Saudis like being laughed at, and Newcastle are the biggest laughing stock going.

So far the sportswashing is going very badly. It's raised awareness of what an evil bunch the Saudis are.

Feels like they've given it no thought whatsoever. Either they didn't think it was going to happen and it's caught v them by surprise or Newcastle just aren't a big priority for them.
