Very true but Leicester started from league 1 with a blank canvas and gathered momentum all the way to the top. I can’t see how the mags can get any momentum going this season.. they’re very poor and without momentum I can’t see them attracting better players without hoying daft contracts about in January. All adds to the mix of shitness! 😄

If the main aim, which is widely believed to be Sportwashhing, i.e. showing the Saudi Regime in a more acceptable way to the western world, then the Jawdee faithful, with their antics at the weekend have probably screwed that up for them already.
Now they may have a secondary mission which we are unaware of, in which case they may persevere with this.
I honestly believe that they will already have serious misgivings about getting involved in this, if all they are going to get is negative press and negative attention.
This is not going to end well for them, and I for one cannot wait to see what unfolds here.
 
Apparently the Mags didn’t train yesterday and have a day off today too. Something must be going off in regards to a new manager. Bizarre start to running a club mind.
 
They’ve conceded the most goals in the premier league, and apparently their top target is a bloke who in his five seasons in the premier league managing Bournemouth, presided over a team who conceded at least 60 goals every season. They need someone to tighten them up fundamentally, Howe would be an hilarious appointment, at Burnley he did a terrible job too. Some managers are just a fit with one club.

All these claims the Saudi owners will invest in the region is I think all fart and nee smell. For me their only interest will be in NUFC and NUFC alone. Why buy a football club if they have wider aspirations? Why not simply start a huge regional business with multiple branches? If you mean neutrals will associate the wider north east with the owners, I think lots of outsiders opposed to the purchase can separate Newcastle from other areas like South Shields, Sunderland, Gateshead and Durham City. What happens in Newcastle United has no bearing on what happens with Sunderland as a city or club and everywhere else as a home of a football club or a town/city.

I’d hope you are right, however I think it will certainly be damaging to Newcastle’s image, and we do tend to get lumped in with them.

If there’s images like this being shown around the world then I can’t imagine that would reflect well on Newcastle, I think at the very least you can say that. We’re only a few days into this thing. Imagine if it went on for years and they put a top side together?

It’s too far North for him, he wouldn’t last a full season.
 
Unfortunately the mags takeover will affect us massively in the coming years, in terms of support. The mags will gain lots of support in the in-between areas and some from our catchment area too. I think it's a disaster for us. Especially if they start winning trophies.

Tbf, it’s not just the big 6 mate. At present the mags are relegation candidates and therefore the smaller clubs are keen to clip their wings as well
