Another thing occurred to me this morning that I think is worth mentioning.
The temptation for KLD and the management at our place to stick the boot in, must be huge.
It is massively to their credit that they are simply ignoring all the noise, and quietly still going about their business.
Cream floats to the top always.
That is a very good point mate.
My mate works in Paddy Powers in Newcastle.
A skunk comes in the shop after the takeover and asks what odds can he get for the wankers to win the league next season.
My mate replies "We don't have any odds currently for the championship next season"
🤣😁🤣

Oh I know mate. If the other clubs in the PL effectively closed that market to the mags ( they won’t because there’s money to be made and noses will be held) then the other clubs in Europe along with their agents would bleed them white.
Can't see that happening...be funny if it did. All the mags are now is a football fruit machine that will keep paying out

At least in the short term. Once the Saudis think they've served their purpose they will ditch them imho as this isn't a deal they would normally have brokered...

Saudis don't tend to treat the whores well

Fully agree mate. The mags have a very limited shelf life as far as the Saudis are concerned. They won’t like the negative attention either. Be grand if they buggered off and left them flat broke with a squad of shit players on long contracts and massive wages.

I work with a mag who has £20 on them to win the Premier in 2022/3.

I bet the odds were narrow when takeover was announced but will be pretty long right now!

They either can't make a decision on the new manager or don't want to pay £8m to get rid of Bruce.

They did just that. But I think the differnce is that even then, they weren't the richest club, but because of their success, the best players wanted to go there to prove themselves. Souness, Dalglish, Rush et al, could have earned more elsewhere, but wanted to be the best, playing with the best. Don't think thats always the case anymore. Modern footballers are much more mercenary now.

Bless his little black and white cotton socks.
Aye players would stay at a club longer

For example Dave Watson stayed with SAFC for another 2 years after our cup win - he was an England first teamer but playing in the 2nd tier.

I wonder if the PL are as pissed off as everyone else about this takeover? They hid behind piracy and separation thinking that would be the end of it so they didn't have to get into the murky world of human rights and Khashoggi but now they have been forced to put this through by the PM they could be furious at how this makes them look and what this may do to their 'brand'.
The PL could have told the PM to do one. The fact that they didn’t tell’s you how complicit those in charge of the PL are.
