I agree that's why to me how all the Clubs voted in favour of it (bar NUFC and Mab City) is highly significant. It's a demonstration of just how united they are in their opposition to the take over. I am sure that when first approached to support the rule change some of the Clubs would have said "we won't get away with it."

When challenged the PL will just withdraw it . It won't cost them anything unless they want to fight their case in Court but NUFC will have to get legal advice and send letters before action and all that.

It’s only a temporary measure anyway mate. Apparently a load of new measures, including a review of FFP, are being discussed at next months meeting.

As I posted earlier, this is the perfect opportunity for Utd and Liverpool to go after City, and fuck the mags before they even start

Interesting point here I think.
Some of the Mags on here yesterday were of the opinion that outside of the North East, the rest of the country were not interested or concerned about their situation and how they are being perceived. I live in Devon, and the back page of my national newspaper this morning is wall to wall criticism and condemnation of their racist behaviour, and the new regime as a whole.
Think again Mags, if you think this is going away.

I don’t want Newcastle to win anything, even a game of tiddlywinks, and it is well within their ability to cock this up which would be hilarious.
However I am enjoying the big boys shitting themselves and throwing their toys out of the park at the nerve of someone potentially challenging the idea of a permanent top six.
I would love to see other clubs rise and threaten them as well.

That’s what I don’t get . If clubs vote in a set of rules for their competition, how can the rules be illegal ? Surely it’s their competition and their rules 🤷‍♂️
Clearly some proposals would be illegal as they would go against national law - an extreme one would be a ban on black players. However I really can’t see what would be illegal about this. And if it is then surely this is:

And one for Fish.

If it looks like bacon, smells like bacon, and tastes like bacon....it's probably bacon.

If it looks like racism, sounds like racism, and feels like racism...it's probably racism.

Just ask Kick it Out this morning eh!

Alternatively lop the spending of the richest clubs - see what I did there - and let a lot more clubs compete.
"Springtime for Charnley and Stavely.." 🎶
Winter for woman and gays.

How ? By more mega rich owners, no matter how dubious, buying them and making the PL an even bigger money pit ???
I would prefer the European Super League to start and for them all, including Newcastle to fuck off and get football back

Drinks and cigarette companies were banned from merchandise stuff inc strips.

You’ve summed up pretty close to what I’m feeling at the moment

it would be nice for someone to upset the status quo - Leicester have been the best example recently although they’ve got a fair bit of cash behind them.

Everton, WHU have flirted with getting in the top 4 but last night - Jamie carragher saying that Rice MUST sign for a club in the champions league to continue to develop just shows how much the expectation is that as soon as one of the lesser teams starts to build some momentum, one of the top 6 vultures will swoop in and strip it away.

in the case of the mags, my views will never be valid as I have a pre-existing hatred of the club. But it’s very depressing that it seems that the 2 options for football going forward are:

- be stuck with the same clubs at the top winning everything and odds stacked in their favour

- a new club enters the fray but only thanks to multi-billion pound investment - often with questionable motives and morals

The days of managers doing what Clough did at Derby and Forest or Bobby Robson at Ipswich seem pretty much impossible now.

Extremely difficult, but not impossible. Leicester did it on a small budget, and are still moving in the upper echelons.

What Cloughie achieved will probably never be equalled, same as Robson , but hope still exists.

I live in South Wales. The Lads I've spoken to here are raging about it. Have you got a photo or link to the article you mentioned? It's good to see the other decent clubs siding against this
