Now I’m a 56 year old bloke and “hands up my fault I know” I struggle to fully understand cultural appropriation and its full variations/implications, I had a very in depth chat with my 30 year old very well educated daughter last week and she explained it all in layman’s terms.
after watching the Spurs game i rang her and asked why these fukktards aren’t being hauled over the coals or sky not issuing an apology for what seems blatant cultural appropriation or even maybe some form of rascism while at the same time rolling no place for racism at every opportunity (and rightly so by the way) and she couldn’t answer me.

what am I missing here

Take your tin hat off mate. Your not missing owt.
Its the fawning, arselicking excuse for media in this country that doesn't get it, or chooses not to get it.
You are bang on mate.

Tbh I don’t think that’s true.

once they start signing big names the sportwashing will go into the background. Sky and the BBC have been trying their best to avoid even mentioning it.

todays coverage was awful,
I was quite surprised today on the USA commentary, it was mentioned several times, in the studio too.

You aren't missing anything. If anything the NUFC/Saudi thing is a worse twist?

I'm not generally of the view that appropriation is a bad thing... I like cultural mixing and often that's caught up wrongly in the conversation. But given the context, the whole thing seems gross and crass.

I want to wrap this up in a pithy manner but can't, it's really complicated!

That bloody banner today though.... Self indulgence on another level. How the hell have they been so oppressed when they've been pretty well managed compared to loads of teams that have really paid a price for poor ownership.

And the irony is that their saviour from oppression is a country that rules by oppression.

100%. Delusion is the most accurate.

Only club on the planet where people have to rule themselves out of unavailable jobs just to stop their delusional fans begging on:

You'd think Mourinho would be hated mind. His team's play very pragmatic dull football. Then again so does/did Rafa so maybe the "big name" factor would hypotise them.

If they got JM as manager, they'd have instantly won the CL a few times. And the PL too. By proxy... but that's what counts.

Literally the only way you can accept basic logic, and their Rafa Benitez love-in.

Let's hope every away ground the mags play at there is some sort of protest that highlights the sports washing

There'll be some but everyone will quickly roll over as they did with City & Chelsea.

It's not like the money is coming from Russia, like with Chelsea. Saudi Arabia are our closest ally. No-one else wants to subjugate Yemen like we do.

We went in hard supporting the subjugation of Yemen, 80 seat majority. We Literally Asked For This.

If it’s any help, the rest of us in football think the way Newcastle fans been going on since this takeover is absolutely appalling. Just disgusting that it’s been allowed to happen by the premier league. How it can pass the fit and proper test I have no idea.

Sky pandering to it today like this lot aren’t evil murdering scum was a new low. But I guess Sky were always going to be championing anything involving big money. They cream themselves every transfer window when the Premier League transfer spending passes a billion. They’re quite happy to slowly kill football without realising that when the money bubble eventually pops, they’ll go down as one of the lead balloons too.
