No set of supporters or club are whiter than white, yet you're acting like fans are responsible for who their owners are, could have easily been Sunderland they bought if you were still in the premier League and I'm sure that would be different, because of course it would coz Newcastle fans are bad and Sunderland fans are model citizens who have the highest morals going
No. It just seems that way as the mags are so morally bankrupt.

Ok. I’ve Said it often enough during the course of this. I wouldn’t set foot in the SOL for the duration of their tenure. My conscience wouldn’t let me.
So let’s get this straight. Fat mick was in your opinion detrimental to your club. So how do you feel about your new owners?
The PIF is administered by saudi government ministers. It’s chairman is bin salman himself.
You don’t agree with acts committed by the Saudis. They own your club. What will you do next? Will you applaud when their representatives show up at the match? Will you go? Will you say and do nothing and just look the other way.
If you’re going to do nothing then I’d respectfully request you don’t come onto a Sunderland message board wringing your hands and bemoaning your fate. By doing nothing you’re as bad as the jesmond jihadis with the tea towels and saudi flags.

I’m not sure I can to be honest PB 😂
detrimental = not spend enough money. ashley detrimental. this lot wont be.

Course you would. But not everyone is holier than thou like yourself are they.
Please don’t attempt to make up or deflect your lack of moral fortitude by describing me as holier than thou. It’s demeaning and quite frankly juvenile. I’m anything but, as those who know me personally will confirm.
I didn’t at any point say the supporters of other clubs were whiter than white. You can’t deny your support actively campaigned for the Saudis to buy your club. It’s a matter of record. If the fans don’t want them they can campaign against them. But they haven’t. They have been welcomed with open arms. Celebrated like conquering heroes. So please don’t attempt to deny any responsibility for this.
I speak for myself only.
As I’ve said before, they didn’t buy SAFC. They bought your club. We aren’t in the premier league. And how different it would be I can’t say. I speak for myself.
the moral standing of Sunderland supporters isn’t in question here, you are trying to create a scenario that is purely hypothetica, like when your local paper used to replay derby games on footy manager.
Now, I’ve addressed your questions, I’ll repeat mine. As per my previous post to you.
What are you going to do?

we all know the answer. naff all unless they dont spend big.

I personally don't feel comfortable but still support the team. And yes I do feel a bit dirty seeing people with tea towels on their heads and waving Saudi flags, but every group of supporters have a section who do things that a lot of other fans don't agree with or support.
Unfortunately Newcastles section is fecking huge!

i know that many newcastle fans share the same values as me and I have a greater affinity to them (football aside) than other fans but Christ many have exceeded themselves in their welcoming of the Saudis. I’ve met loads of Saudi lads and first rule is stick to neutral subjects - we differ on basically everything.

Sorry we're did I try to justify the regime? I said I was just as horrified by acts the Saudi government has committed, but posed the question am I supposed to walk away and not support my team? Have a go coz I'm a mag but don't try and say I tried to justify the regime when I clearly didn't that's just lying.
You are not only justifying it, you are legitimising and financially backing it everytime you buy a ticket, shirt, scarf.
You can say "team not regime" as often as you like, but that's not the reality , even if you desperately want it to be.
YOU CAN'T SEPARATE THE TWO.
THEY ARE THE SAME.
