200 best albums of the last 25 years

Hi young people. I'm feeling my age here.
The only albums I've heard on this list are
The White Stripes at 83
and
Dylan at 186 (which I own)

I realized a good few years ago that I might not live long enough to listen to all the music I already love, so I don't dabble in pop music any more.
You’ve never heard of David Bowie, Amy Winehouse or The Arctic Monkeys ?

I’ve seen much worse lists. It’s clearly missing a few (where the hell is Nonagon Infinity by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard?!?!?!?) and there’s too much of a Radiohead love-in at the top but there are some very good albums there.

I assume that the pitchfork crowd aren't middle aged gazelle wearing new build semi dwelling males from Tyne and Wear hence their selection might include what would appear to some left field or unheard of choices :p

Even some hip hop. Don't think illmatic or it takes a nation of millions are in there mind but that probably shows my age :(
It takes a nation of millions... came out in 1988 mate.

They aren’t there because they were released in 1994 and 1988 respectively.

Surprised The Roots aren’t there though (I only skimmed the list though so might have missed them) - Things Fall Apart, Phrenology and The Tipping Point are all worth a place IMO.

I've heard of some of the more popular bands and may have heard the odd track here and there (and own a few early Bowie albums) but I've never heard any of these albums on the list.
There are though, a good few bands there I've never heard of.

I’m not overly familiar with a few of the acts but there’s still some good bands on there. Arcade Fire,The Flaming Lips, LCD Soundsystem and Fleetfoxes are definitely worth a listen.

What a load of absolute f***ing shit. The top 10 is just Radiohead, a couple of rappers and some indie bullshit.
The same artists dominate the top

Radiohead, Kanye, Arcade Fire, Frank Ocean

Sorry like but Kanye doesn’t have 4 of the top 50 albums since 1995

I mean, it is a reader's vote, so you might expect that the most popular acts would dominate the top of this list.

(I reckon you could make a reasonable argument for Kanye having 2 or 3 albums in that top 50. 4 is excessive)

I think there’s something for everyone in pretty much every decade of music, it’s mad that people just dismiss modern releases. I listen to a lot of new stuff but still go back to check out albums released before I was born etc.
I was guilty of doing that for years until I heard Arcade Fire, Wilco, Built to Spill etc made me realise how closed minded I'd been.
