Running thread 2021

It's a really nice route, scenic.
I've not done this, but I've done the penshaw half and the finish is brutal. Done the route, the incline up to offerton village is horrible. Pleased it's not going up Satan's steps like the half did!

Looking forward to it on Sunday, it'll be a canny run out
The route is reversed thsi year so we run to offerton then down to the river and along, but then worst of all back up to the monument, the last mile is going to be hell 😂

That last incline from Cox Green to the finish was horrible!
Tired legs today but got round in one piece.
That red pop they dish out is lovely!
That last hill man, think it took my soul ! The red cola they dished out was lush like give me the boost I needed after the offerton hill !

With regard to marathons, I think I've stumbled across the most painful marathon record ever while looking through stuff this morning related to the marathon on the box.

Any girls here up for it? 26 miles running in high heels?

I ran London yesterday and passed a guy wearing ice hockey boots.

PB for a half today (01:39:07). Was a training run and think I could take an extra couple of minutes off but not sure I could hold on to my page 1 target of sub 01:35:00, maybe give it a proper whack before the end of the year.

Doing a 50k in north yorkshire on the 16th and then Wooler Marathon in November...thinking about taking a break / cross training for rest of year after that.

Last faster run of any consequence today before marathon on Sunday and after 18 weeks of injury free running (in fact the whole year over 2,000 miles) have managed to tweak my hamstring, hoping it settles down next couple of days but bloody typical.

Aye think it's 7 hours you get to do as long as you want.
Sounds interesting that like. Got a line mate?

I've started running home from work occasionally again. There can't be many more spirit sapping straights than the bottom of Bede bank to the start of Herra mind.
