That seems to be the way. Clubs either wait to see how the current manager does or wait to see who is available. Some clubs will have their man lined up. What's odd about this is, they are going to sack Bruce but don't seem to have an idea who to replace him with. Even Donald had Ross lined up. He even had Hill, Cotton and Reid lined up. KLD was the same. There seems to be no one lined up for anything with the Mags. Staveley is the owner or chairwoman (I think) but needs permission from the Saudis before she can make a decision. Were not even sure who owns the club.

Saudi is very hierarchical; decisions are made slowly, and the final decision is down to the most senior person. Staveley will need explicit permission to wipe her arse, never mind sack or appoint a manager.

I’m sure some of these buggers thought the PIF were just going to give her excellency queen Amanda a billion quid and just say “there you go, get on with it” “and when it’s gone come back and we’ll give you some more”
Just been reading one of the reasons Rogers turned it down, is he wants the City job when Pep leaves.
Either that or he doesn’t want to be driving the bus when it goes off the cliff.

I think you mean, the UK government putting pressure on the PL to allow Saudi Arabia to purchase a club and the greed of the Premier League and hypocrisy of the English FA meant there was a fairly abrupt turn......
It was an abrupt turn. Whether it was due to Govt pressure or the PL’s arse dropping due to a court case which would have exposed their corruption, I’m not sure. I suspect a bit of both but I don’t think we’ll get the full story.

Mate of mine is currently fitting a stairlift at Sir John Hall's place. Seriously.

Not a fan of the takeover (or Joelinton) apparently.
Hope he gets paid

IIRC they were saying that the appeal panel was meeting in January and nothing would be discussed before then?

Then 2 days later it's agreed over 1 night.
The Saudis coughed up a billion dollars to make the piracy go away. Boris got a text off the chopper in chief and hey presto, the separation issue miraculously isn’t an issue any more cos the Saudis say it isn’t.

Is anyone a Joelinton fan? Wraith is probably offering his services to MBS to man his guillotine for big Joe the bloodthirsty fecker

Yeah I saw people mention that but haven't seen a news report.
That Guardian cartoonist mentioned it too.

That's a LOT of money to force the deal through worth £300 million.

That plus the government pressure was always going to push the Premier League towards approval.

There was actually a group of NUFC fans who have been pushing the "Premier League is corrupt" line to politicians and the fan base since it fell through, tweeting Staveley and her husband for "30 - 40 season tickets for life" to reward them for their contribution to the takeover.

At least it’s been made clear that as far as the PL are concerned, state misogyny, human rights abuses, chemical castration for homosexuals, state sponsored terrorism, extra judicial killings, war in Yemen, the public beheadings, the butchery of journalists... all fine.
Makes this all sound a bit hollow now. Well it does to me anyway.

"We remain resolutely committed to our singular objective of eradicating racial prejudice wherever it exists, to bring about a global society of inclusion, respect and equal opportunities for all."
