I don't mean riding high in the premier league I mean his appointment and the feel good factor initially.
I know fine well what happened in his 10 year spell...but, just like us with Ashley. No one knew him and we rode along on the crest of a wave for a short period.
The belief was of ambition and progress.
From both clubs.

Anyway never mind, we'll just agree to disagree.
Shame the LGBTQ+ population of Saudi Arabia can’t enjoy a ‘feel-good factor’ too isn’t it.

But the point remains, if he is so anti Saudi Arabia, why is he encouraging the sportswashing by attending an event? Is it ok because he's paid for it? Surely he's benefitting from the exact same blood money? He's just another in a long line of hypocrites.

When Chelsea and City were challenged previously the bloke tweeted 'it doesn't matter where the money has come from' - why's he happy to turn a blind eye then?

It's not an honest question, it's a dig at me and the answer has already been given multiple times on a thread that's probably going to reach 1000 pages of the exact same back and forth bullshit.
He’s a bloody journalist. His JOB is to report on world events. Let’s suppose he overheard something and ended up uncovering the Saudi equivalent or watergate or made observations that he could pass on to Amnesty International.

It’s akin to saying war zone reporters are encouraging and promoting how great war is. Give your head a shake.

Really ? Every Mag I have spoken to is 100% behind it and supporters of other clubs all see it the same, there ate no dissenting voices , the mags couldn’t give 2 shits about anything other than this mob bankrolling their PL outfit.
They'll sharp care if things go tits up or the Saudi's get bored.

Somebody earlier mentioned trying to do a multi club fund raise for the Yemeni people in response to this. I personally think that's a cracking idea, my apologies I have been tagged and received a lot of alerts I can't remember who it was.

I genuinely look forward to seeing it come to fruition and I'd happily donate.
So a few of you shake some buckets while another load of you dance around with tea towels on your bonce? Condemnation is what should be happening, not empty gestures.

I'm answering questions people have asked. That's what I'm achieving. What are you achieving by that post?
In answer to your question, I am purely trying to understand your motivation for offering yourself up for ridicule, when as a morally bankrupt supporter of a club owned by a murderous regime, you have absolutely given up any right you may once have had to enter into civilised conversation.

Quite simple really.

Sorry mate. Honestly I was taking the piss. Just doing what some of your support have been doing since this shit show came to town. I don’t have a great deal of time for sports “journalists” but to be truthful I’m pleased he’s shown Downie up for what he is.

Hypothetical. And completely off the wall thinking. I believe I've read that all 19 PL clubs are against Saudi involvement in Newcastle. If the takeover was between seasons, would it be possible for all clubs to just forfeit the games against Newcastle, yes they'd win without kicking a ball but would it have significant impact of any on the situation ????

Just my thoughts would be no played would want to go and not play to an extent. And would mean the "fans" of Newcastle United wouldn't get to see a ball kicked either. As a player would any feel strongly enough to not play against Newcastle

And if the Saudi state is running NUFC, I wonder what the PL will do ?

F**k all. If theyd been minded to do anything this the deal wouldn’t have gone through. Boris stepped in and told them to get it done. So even if they wanted to do something they couldn’t. Anyone pissed off at the mags and the PL need to save some for our prime minister. He’s in this up to his neck.
