I didn't see anyone being appalled before the takeover links...
So what? You are now owned by a murderer. If you have no problems with that, that is up to you. People all round the country have a major problem with. Again you may not care but I believe that many, many Mags will be uncomfortable with it and hope the controversy will go away. I think many are in denial. On this occasion I don't think I'm exaggerating. I can't believe that on some level you don't have a problem with it

Lad at work is a mag with a gay son. He's not going back and neither is his son. They're genuinely embarrassed by the reaction of their fellow fans.
Pity any fans trying to push the LBGT agenda, they’ll soon be silenced by the Saudi brigade supporters ! It’s Shhhhhhhhhh to any potential offence to our paymaster

It's a compendium thread that gets "refreshed" every month or so... What thread has had the most replies since August 8th?
I've no idea but it's bound to be popular at present.

After all it's not every day of the week that our local rivals become the most hated club in the country - literally overnight.

Over the years I've often fretted about the state of SAFC but have been comforted by the fact that no matter how far we fall, NUFC* will somehow contrive to fall even further.

You've outdone yourselves this time.

I doubt many 'football manager playing' vacuous players pay much attention to current affairs tbh.

They, like many Mags, will turn a blind eye to current affairs, human rights and terrorism. Wearing a ribbon or bending the knee is just a token gesture they know makes them look concerned.

But now that football supporters are posting on forums, etc, they'll be under no illusions that they'll be associated with murderers and paid by a State that sponsors terrorism.

I know you'll be expecting players to flock to SJP but I think you'll find some players actually have a conscience.

There are plenty of big clubs to go to who don't have blood on their hands.
Many football players will have a conscience. We've all got a conscience.
The issue arises (back to the old morality stuff) how subjective their conscience is.

Do you think Mo Salah would play for Newcastle?
Money talks and everyone has their price.
Many people can argue they do not but depending on the circumstances in life, I'd hazard a guess that every person has a price outside of their own family comfort zone.

The human rights activists have been posting in other sections of the forum for years. Most forums, including Premier League clubs like, er, Newcastle, simply don't have the traffic to need that. It hasn't been raised in PF before (well, not since Man City anyway), because clubs aren't bought by murdering, homophobic, war criminal regimes every day of the week. You're just another morally bankrupt, sportswashed apologist for murdering scum.

Really? It's almost as if that's my point...

Lots of stuff disgusts me and the same will apply to everyone else.
Football disgusts me in how it's run at the top. The corruption.
It disgusts me that people are sent to war to be slaughtered.
It disgusts me that governments are complicit in the deaths of their own and other people of other countries.

If you go down the rabbit hole you'll like lt find most things are tainted by atrocities.
Nobody is compelled to like it and most people would be disgusted at the thought of people being slaved to push out cheap attire.

People are killed by ruthless people whether it's work related or sheer strictness of regimes, down to utter evilness. And so on.

If we all had to give up everything based on atrocities we'd have very little.
However we get on with stuff because most of us do not have the ability to alter that.

But I'm supposed to feel like a leper because I'm a fan of Newcastle United. Nahhhhh, not a chance.
Ha, ha that reads just like 'im not a racist but....'. you all or most of you want to justify your support of murderers by pointing out that other bad things happen in the world. You should by any reasonable standard be appalled that your club has been bought by a murderer. No one is saying you are lepers just that you appear to have no morals when it comes to your club.

Nobody has ever seriously said that Mike Ashley, for all his faults, is 'Far worse than the Saudis'. What a embarrassing thing to say.
It's just assumed because you were desperate to get rid of Ashley but appear delirious that these horrendous lot have bought the club - I don't mean you but the Jawdie Nashun.

The lack of intelligence in Mag posters is getting wearing. Human rights are not a usual subject in Pure Football, because they are not usually the subject of current discussion in football. Try looking in the politics forum, which is still part of SMB. Then click the button that says forums, and read the posting guidelines there. Jesus, it's like talking to a four year old.

PIF Private Jets?

Selco for all your hardware tools, including saws.

Microsoft Flight Simulator?
I posted on twitter, when it was signed, that the takeover must be off! Slated by mags saying I was an idiot for suggesting that. I've delivered courses to Saudi's (from PIF, Aramco etc.) in function suites in hotels and the efforts the hotel has to goto to hide alcohol and signs is incredible. When the overlords come this will need to be taken care of also.
