NUFC/Sportwashing

See that to me is everything that is wrong with this. They rely on that. It’s sportswashing.
You can say it’s your club. It’s not. It’s a PR scheme by deplorable death merchants.
As another lad said, what if it was North Korea?

each to their own but it disgusts me entirely.
Lots of stuff disgusts me and the same will apply to everyone else.
Football disgusts me in how it's run at the top. The corruption.
It disgusts me that people are sent to war to be slaughtered.
It disgusts me that governments are complicit in the deaths of their own and other people of other countries.

If you go down the rabbit hole you'll like lt find most things are tainted by atrocities.
Nobody is compelled to like it and most people would be disgusted at the thought of people being slaved to push out cheap attire.

People are killed by ruthless people whether it's work related or sheer strictness of regimes, down to utter evilness. And so on.

If we all had to give up everything based on atrocities we'd have very little.
However we get on with stuff because most of us do not have the ability to alter that.

But I'm supposed to feel like a leper because I'm a fan of Newcastle United. Nahhhhh, not a chance.

No, I came back because I was shocked by the sudden rise of human rights activists posting. I'm still waiting for a quote where I gloated?

The human rights activists have been posting in other sections of the forum for years. Most forums, including Premier League clubs like, er, Newcastle, simply don't have the traffic to need that. It hasn't been raised in PF before (well, not since Man City anyway), because clubs aren't bought by murdering, homophobic, war criminal regimes every day of the week. You're just another morally bankrupt, sportswashed apologist for murdering scum.

It's a compendium thread. It's the SMB's version of a council tip where all NUFC* related rubbish is allowed to decay naturally.

Even so, by SMB standards the NUFC* thread is not particularly big or long running.

The Interesting Photographs thread on parsnip has been running since 2014 - it has over 12,000 replies and a truly remarkable 2 million views.

By comparison the Trump thread on the politics forum is a tiddler - has only been running since 2016 with a creditable 76,000 replies but only 1million views.

*blood money
It's a compendium thread that gets "refreshed" every month or so... What thread has had the most replies since August 8th?

Plenty of posts about Saudi Arabia pre May 2020 on other parts of the board as you say mate

Well said up to a point but that's actually the point of sport washing it's not about being a murderer today it's about changing public perception of you from now on, like letting a gangster keep his proceeds from crime but him telling everyone he's a reformed character now.
But that's what I'm saying, allow Amnesty International to speak, if I had my way I'd have them regularly invited to liaise with the Trust. If I were True Faith I'd have something in the fanzine regularly to educate readers on what's going on over there, and everywhere else, to be honest.

Saudis aren't going to rapidly become a fair and balanced society (if ever, and if that's a possibility for any country, really). So lets not pretend otherwise.

That’s a very obtuse way of saying I want my club to buy success and I don’t give a fuck how they do it as long as we are No 1
Newcastle fans have always been a joke to most supporters now they can be even bigger whoppers

Who's hacked your account? This is all decent stuff. Only teasing-- keep up the pressure. We can stamp as much as we want but it will just be dismissed as Mackems mouthing off. Only Mags fans themselves can do something about the sportswashing.

Claiming the height of your "relevance" with reference to finishing in the top 12 (on average, as you noted) is actually mental. While also making reference to Sunderland being irrelevant, so irrelevant that you're on an SAFC message board - its comical. Please go back through your posts this morning and see how utterly ridiculous you sound.
How is claiming the height of our "relevance" with reference to finishing in the top 12 mental? Sunderland are/have been irrelevant for ~4+ years, hence my absence for ~4+ years as a member pointed out.

I am on a SAFC message board after ~4+ year absence, on an NUFC related thread that has over 16,000 replies since August 8th.
